Deschambault, QC – The Jetwerx MX Tour series made its only Quebec stop last weekend, at the Deschambault Motocross track. The crowd, the track and the atmosphere were READY TO RACE, and so was the KTM Red Bull Thor racing team. Cole Thompson won another overall in the 450 class, while Kaven Benoit won a 450 moto in front of some really excited fans. Meanwhile, in the 250 class, Tanner Ward climbed on the podium for a well-deserved top-3 and a Holeshot award.

Cole Thompson did it again and won the 450 overall for the second weekend in a row. After a great start in the 1st moto, Cole took over the lead in the first lap and started pulling away. With only a couple laps to go, Thompson and Benoit gave the crowd an amazing show, battling for the lead. Cole showed some great speed and crossed the finish line in 2nd place. In the second race, Thompson got a top-5 start and worked his up to 2nd place by the time the checkered flag was waving. His 2-2 results gave him another overall victory and Cole is now only 22 points behind the 450 championship leader heading in to the last round.

“It was a great weekend again for me. I feel more and more confident and I think it’s really showing on race day. I am happy we are heading to Walton next, as I have had a lot of success there in the past. ”

Kaven Benoit had another top-3 qualifying time this weekend, followed by a top-5 start in the first moto. Kaven really put the hammer down and slowly raced his way up to the lead. The Quebec crowd was really excited and gave Benoit a lot of energy as he rode to the victory. Unfortunately, after getting another good start, putting him in 5th position, Kaven went down on the 2nd lap, leaving him outside of the top-10. Benoit pushed hard and finished 6th, giving him 3rd place overall.

“I can’t thank the Quebec crowd enough for giving me all of this energy. It’s always good to be racing on home soil, from the loud fans, to my friends and family being on site to cheer for me, I am glad I was able to get a win and an overall podium in front of them.

Tanner Ward was impressive again this weekend in Deschambault. After qualifying in the top-5, Tanner got a great start to the first moto and spent 25 min + 2 laps battling for a podium position. After crossing the finish line in 4th place, Ward felt confident for the second moto. Tanner went on to get his 7thHoleshot of the season and put down some impressive lap times, giving him the checkered in 2nd place, his best results of the season yet. His 4-2 results gave him a 4th place overall in the 250 class.

“I have always liked the Deschambault track and I think it shows in my racing results. It was great to run with the front pack and finally finding that 2 sec a lap I was missing in the previous races. I am super excited for Walton and completing my first complete professional year with the team.”
