Brandon Plewes and the Brap Foundation
From Brandon Plewes:
Hi guys and gals, I am the president of South Cariboo Track and Trail based out of 100 Mile House, BC. My family and I, with the help of a few friends, restored MX back to our town after a 22 year track absence.
The goal was to give youth and families a place to learn and grow their skills. We had our first successful year this year after 2 years of organizing. During this time I was seriously injured at a motocross race in Kamloops. The support I received from hundreds of people inside and outside of my community and thousands in financial aid left me speechless and has really helped in my recovery.
During this time while I was in hospital I started a charity to ensure other racers who get injured while doing what we love get the same kind of support I was so fortunate to receive.
The charity is the “BRAP Foundation” and we have be doing fundraising for the last 2 months to get this program off and running.
We have raised $8000 so far but have a long way to go to make this program available to racers in BC to start, and then start moving east.
We have many people and race teams getting behind us to show their support and add us into their rider contracts for fundraising efforts.
We will move forward and look towards getting some corporate sponsors on board with this program that so many people are showing their support for.
