The dream is finally being realized for teeny, tiny Beets. The go-for-broke racer is slowly adding consistency to his game, and it helped him to finish second overall in last year's MX2 series. 2009 saw Beaton with his first factory ride on the Toyota Yamaha/Red Bull/Blackfoot/Fox Racing team. Unfortunately he crashed in the first turn of the first race at Kamloops, and the injury would dog him for most of the season, though he continued to race for most of it. It was only late in the season that we got to see "KD Beets" at his full pace, and he went on to win the MX2 title at the Montreal Supercross. More bad luck struck in 2010 as the popular BC rider broke is thumb in practice before the first round, once again hampering his pursuit of the MX2 championship.
