Theodore Maier came out swinging at the first round of the MX2 series last year, taking a moto win and overall. Poised to challenge for the title, Maier's hopes faded after suffering an ankle injury at Round 4 Regina. He still managed to finish third overall in the series, however. Maier returned to Leading Edge Kawasaki and Canada in 2009 and was able to win on a consistent basis, taking the series championship. In the 2010 series, Maier had his hands full with Blackfoot Yamaha's Tyler Medaglia, but was able to secure second place in the championship race.
