Husaberg Domination - CGRT Victorious On ICE!
Presented by: www.cornergrass.com February 1, 2010 CGRT DOMINATES ROUND 1 – ALBERTA ENDURANCE ICE RACING SERIES!
In near blizzard conditions, CGRT was victorious yesterday at the opening round of the Alberta Endurance Ice Racing Series. Nick Riewe was the Team’s starter for the day...he pulled a massive hole-shot and built a lead of nearly 2 minutes by the 1.5 hour mark. Jay McGregor rode an extended second shift staying out for nearly 2 hours, putting in equally fast lap times and further solidifying their dominance. At day’s end CGRT had controlled the Sandy Beach event wire to wire and finished over a lap up on the competition. The boys now look forward to Round 2 at Telford Lake on Feb 7/10.

For 2010, the AEIRA series runs every weekend from late January through early March. Each event is 6 hours long (except for the famous Numb Bum 24 hour on Feb 13/14) and held on road course style tracks plowed into lakes around central Alberta. Typical lap lengths vary from 5-15 km per lap. This year the schedule totals 54 hours of intense racing and enduring the elements. For more race information on the races visit www.AEIRA.com ; and for next day race results visit www.mylaps.com under the MX category.
