Off Track: CEC Update
By Dan Paris
This has been a busy week to say the least. First I get a call from Cory Graffunder
over in the Czech Republic with his exciting news. Then tonight I got a call from BMW Canada’s Guy Giroux
, already on the road heading to Alberta for round-one of the Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championships. Turns out he’d won yet another FMSQ cross country race, this time in Ste.Veronique, QC. You may not believe Giroux’s MacGyver story about the race, but he swears it’s true. You should try to read the following few paragraphs with a French accent to get full effect.

tonight tied all this stuff together neatly, stuff being Erzberg, fast guys on weird bikes and East vs. West at the CEC. Cuthbertson, a four-time Alberta Hare Scramble Champion and two-time ISDE Silver Medallist, has twice finished in the top-ten at Red Bull Extreme races like Last Man Standing and Romaniacs. Erzberg didn’t go as well as he’d hoped when his good start went down the tubes after a trip over the bars damaged his bike. Once he got going again Cuthbertson still managed to hammer his way from 500th to 90th overall. Can you even imagine?![]() |
