DMX FRFAD Winners Chosen!
Well the announcement that everyone’s been waiting for is here. The directmotocross.com Factory Rider for a Day Program has selected its winning riders and they are Kyle Ward
for Gopher Dunes
, Nick May
for Sand De Lee and Jared Stock
for Walton.
It was really tough decision and there were plenty of great entries and what we did here at DMX was have an internal discussion on who we thought deserved this ride and the reasons why. After we narrowed it down to a few guys, we then went out to the industry to get some backgrounds on the guys and see if we glean any other new information about our guys.
We would like to take this time to thank everyone that entered and we appreciate everything that you guys do at the track and never give up trying to achieve the dream.
And now we have the three. We’d like to congratulate the three riders and we hope that with our sponsors support and Dan Stenning being there to make sure everything is taken care of, the guys can achieve results that will be their best yet.
We’d like to thank Justin at Ignition Racing, Trevor at CTi, Danny and The Dogger at Maxima, Milt and Jamie at FXR Racing, Kyle at Roost clothing, David, at IMX, Gord at Podium Grafix and Brian at Dunlop Tires for all their generous support of the DMX FRFAD Program and come by at Gopher, SDL and Walton to shake the hand of a deserving young rider and get a sticker.
Look for interviews with each guy in the coming weeks!

Why you deserve a spot on the Ignition Racing Factory Rider for a Day Team:
Sand Del Lee is my local track, I've spent countless hours riding and racing there for the one goal of some day racing in a national, and in 2008 my dream came true. I like to think that I have created a good little fan base with all the local families, I’m always there to help people out making me a crowd favorite. I work really hard during the winter by training 5-6 days a week, and ride and race everyday when the snow leaves. I’ve cut out all my distractions and made many sacrifices just so I can do what I love. My parents help me out with everything except for bike work. I’m always rushing between motos changing tires, filters and washing bikes. It would be really nice not to have to worry about that at a national. Few would argue that I’m not one of the hardest working riders, and I would be very grateful to get this kind of opportunity. .and PS Steve I listen to every one of your podcasts, and I even run a DMX sticker on my helmet visor that I got from Danny.

Why you deserve a spot on the Ignition Racing Factory Rider for a Day Team:
I deserve a spot because I am one of the most dedicated athletes in my region and I have worked hard to advance through this grueling sport. As we all know money becomes a huge factor in the advancement of this sport so at seventeen last year and at the very depleted bank account of my parents I decided to do what I had to do. At the peak of my first year in intermediate in 2008 I ended up breaking my scaphoid at a SOAB round in Calgary. After a month of trying to continue the year with the injury i had to quit racing for the season and think of the next season. Through a friend I obtained a job with a drilling company and headed out to the rig with the cast on. I worked for the company from the end of September until the end of February, and banked all the money I could manage. After that I rented a house in California for me and my sister Lacy to ride and train until the first round SOAB at Raymond. Working on the rigs was not an easy task for me to accomplish and I often kept images of moto to keep me going. The -45 degrees only made me work harder imagining the 70 degrees increase in weather in my paradise, California. With my hard earned money I bought my own bike and the tons of other expenses that come along. Being only part of the way through the season and already starting a tight budget now makes me realize more than ever how tight is going to be to get across Canada and to prove myself as a top contender.
