Motocross Newfoundland and Labrador’s first outdoor round took place June 21 on Bell Island with clear skies and warm temperatures (in other words the complete opposite of Southern and Eastern Ontario…).  This year the Association added a whoop section and the classes were cut down to nine classes. Fun and Fast Kawasaki’s Jeff Comerford and Andy Young took the top two spots in the expert and open classes with Bobby Dowden in third.

Reigning ATV champ Andrew Ashford (Ashford Sales) took the perfect win 1-1 for the overall with Mark Evans in second and Ronald Mahony in third.

#5 Jeff Comerford was in fine form in more than one class in the opening round of the Newfoundland series.

The Beginner class just keeps on growing. This year the class had 17 registrations, which is a record high. The sport continues to expand throughout the province. The class was split into two divisions – Junior and Senior.
