Here is a view from the announcing tower of the sea of white campers that showed up for Saturday's races. It was a hot one!
The out of province riders just keep stopping by Manitoba this year. Minnesota native Cody Thomsen grabbed second overall in MX-1 Pro with his 1-6 moto scores.
After taking a nine week 'vacation' nursing a broken right wrist, junior class front runner James Freudenberg made his return to the MMA scene. Sporting a beige leather work glove to contain his wrist brace, James raced to two moto wins and the overall in Youth B as well as taking home third overall in MX-3 Junior.
(P.S. Dave: He's back!)
Josh Bell and his Kawasaki minis took his stuffed bear for a ride today. Bell won 3 of 4 motos on the day en route to two overalls in 85c 12- 16 and Supermini.
Can you say brotherly love? Marcus Giesbrecht shows his brother Michael (#302) the size of his lead in moto one of MX-1 Intermediate action. Michael went on to win the second moto and take home the overall.
50cc 4-6 rider Zach Neufeld was all threes on the day where his consistent 3-3 moto scores took him to third overall in Beausejour.
Cole Dekonink showed up to Beausejour after a short hiatus from the MMA. Dekonink absolutely dominated the 85cc 7-11 class taking both motos and the overall as well as a first moto win and second overall behind Josh Bell in Supermini.
Taylor Masse had a consistent day and her two third place scores gave her third overall behind Brittany Mann and Lauren Gilmore respectively.
Josh Bell (#46) and Cole Dekonink (#956) are all smiles after the two went 1-2 in the first Supermini moto.
Madison Mc Alinden and her KTM 85SX picked up both moto wins and a first place trophy for the overall in the Ladies B division.
Dave Freudenberg was just as excited (if not more!) than his son James to be back at the track. In addition to helping out with track prep, Dave also gave announcing a shot.
After leading wire to wire in moto one, Derek Anseeuw's fourth place finish in moto two was good enough for second overall behind Lindsay Masse in Youth A action.
Greg Wiebe was on the gas in Beausejour. Wiebe took the Plus 40 B overall as well as a Vet Junior second moto win and third overall.
"Marky" Mark Sexton, now done with mini bikes, has continued to make his advances on the junior classes. The #34 scored an overall in MX-3 Junior and a second overall in MX-2 Junior action.
Ami Houde accompanies Garrett Graboweski back to his trailer after he hit the ground hard in a nasty crash.
Josh Pfrimmer grabbed the second MX-2 Pro moto victory and won the tie-breaker over a hard charging Steven Navitka.
Having the Outback Raceway race track in his backyard was obviously an advantage to Kolten Stengel. Stengel had some solid results where 4-3 results took him to fourth overall in MX-1 Junior.
Jacob Gnidziejko and his blue bike's pair of fourth place finishes in 85cc 7-11 were good for a third place trophy.
Coard Allard topped the highly competitive MX-2 Intermediate class in both motos giving him first overall.
Richard Giesbrecht was a new name in the MX-2 Beginner ranks. Even after crashing in the first lap of moto one, Giesbrecht charged hard from behind and passed the entire field to take the moto win. Moto two saw a repeat score and secured him the overall.
