Round one of the Headingley Sport Shop/FXR Racing Fall Series was held on a typical sunny Sunday in Manitoba.
Brad Rempel had a great weekend in the MX-2 Beginner class. Rempel handily made it through his qualifying round and took a comfortable win in the main event for an overall.
Rounding out the MX-2 Intermediate podium was Ryan Linto when his 4-3 motos gave him third overall on the day.
After trading in his two-stroke RM250 in favour of a big-bore Honda thumper, Jordan Toews took a pair of commanding moto wins for an overall in Youth B.
Local mini-cycle star D.J. Burmey will be MIA for a while after injuring his elbow in a mid-week practice crash.
Fan favourite pro rider Tim Lavoie made a cameo appearance at GMX. Lavoie took a second overall in Youth A on the day.
Another fan favourite, Aaron Pfrimmer lays out one of his signature whips over the finish line table-top. Pfrimmer took a pair of MX-2 Pro motos over younger brother Josh Pfrimmer and Rio Stoesz respectively.
Former AMA Pro Motocross/Supercross racer David Pingree made an appearance this weekend in Grunthal. Pingree held an awesome rider clinic at the track the day before the race and even competed in the MX-1 and Plus 25 classes on Sunday taking all four motos.
Now a part-time 85cc and 125 rider, Josh Bell got the better end of an 85cc 12-16 class tie breaker with Brendyn Heide when Bell's 2-1 bested Heide's 1-2.
Len Van der Meer's second moto win in Plus 40 B went along with his second in moto one to give him second overall.
Ricky Frederickson's pair of seventh place finishes in the 50cc 7-8 class earned him sixth overall in Grunthal.
Jamie Burmey returned to her winning ways in Grunthal handily winning both Ladies class motos and the overall over Ami Houde and Lauren Gilmore.
Making his first appearance at a Manitoba race this year was last year's most dominant mini-rider Hayden McKinny. McKinny picked up where he left off with a pair of moto wins in Supermini to go with his third overall in Youth B aboard his 150SX.
