Walton Thursday

With a full day of racing under everyone's belts at the 2011 Parts Canada Trans Can, the favorites are starting to emerge and we had great racing across all of the classes all day long. We've got a video recap of the day uploading right now to catch you up on some of the riders take on their day but for now I thought I'd share a quick few photos that I thought told a bit of the story of the day. I'll be posting a more indepth photo report at the end of the week so make sure to check back for that.
Here's a few photos from Thursday at Walton before I hit the hay...
Taylor Ciampichini kicked off the day's action when he came out on top of a 4-way battle for the MX2 Junior lead to take the first win of the day.
All eyes were on reigning MX3 World Champion, Julien Bill, to see how he'd fare in the +25 class and he didn't disappoint. He grabbed the holeshot and led wire to wire, looking smooth and fast on his way to stretching out his lead to a minute by the checkered flag.
Tanner Ward(84) battles Sam Gaynor for the 65cc 10-11 class holeshot. Ward would end up taking the win but not before a good battle with Christopher DaSilva and Cedric Fournier, who joined him on the podium.
After having problems in yesterday's MX2 Intermediate moto, Brad Dool proved why he was so hyped in the Intermediate ranks this season as he went out and dominated the MX1 and MX3 Intermediate classes today.
Jess Pettis(39) and Westin Wrozyna waged a great battle in the 85cc 12-16 class. Pettis grabbed the holeshot but Wrozyna eventually made it by to take the win. The two gapped the field and will certainly be fun to watch all week.
Probably the best moto of the day went to the first +40 class race. St-Jerome, Quebec's Gino Alary came out and pressured multi-time +40 champ, Matt Crown all moto long and passed him but Crown got him back to take the win. They were wheel to wheel all moto long.
TV announcer and the man behind the weekly webcast, Brian Koster, is getting in a little racing this week in the Vet Master and +40 classes.
Buddies Ryan Gauld and Chuck Mesley waged a great battle for the lead in the Vet Master class. Gauldy would end up taking the win for bragging rights back at the trailer.
After losing out to Wrozyna in the 85cc class, Jess Pettis came back to run away with the Supermini moto win.
Former Canadian MX2 East champ, Josh Woods, has been ripping it up on a 2005 Honda CR250 two stroke. He came back from a bad start in +25 to take second behind Bill and then managed to grab the holeshot in the Youth moto and lead wire to wire to take the win.
First Youth moto winner, Davey Fraser(61) was working his way through the pack in moto two when Blanchet landed on the back of him. He didn't crash but Blanchet's bike was stuck on his and he couldn't get it off.
The last moto of the day was Schoolboy and it was a wild one. Pre-race favorite, Dylan Wright(539) went down on the start in a pile up that claimed a lot of riders and the race was red flagged. With his visor broken off and his bike banged up he made it back to start moto two and battled with Pennsylvania's Alex Odell.
