The finale round of the Headingley Sport Shop/FXR Racing Fall Series took the MMA caravan back to Prairie Hill MX for the last time in 2011. It's that time of the series again when titles are up for grabs in almost every class. Some great weather and some great racing made for another fantastic race day in Manitoba!
Jordan Devloo made another one of his cameo appearances this weekend. Devloo took three of four moto wins and both overalls in the Supermini and 85cc 12-16 divisions in Pilot Mound.
Devloo may have won the race, but it was Josh Bell who secured the 85cc 12-16 fall series championship over Devon Wiebe and Travis Klassen.
Supermini saw one of the tightest top three championship finishes where a mere eight points separated the top three when the dust settled. Travis Klassen (243) topped Cam Toole and Brian Klassen respectively on the championship podium.
Racing on a brand new KTM 150SX and a reportedly fractured wrist, Austin Wiebe took the last MX-2 Junior overall to go with his fall series title in the same class. Josh Penner and Ernie Abrams rounded out the series podium.
It's safe to say Jim Frederickson made my day when he brought out a YZ125 for the final round in favour of his usual 450. Frederickson absolutely hauled on the small-bore smoker taking second overall in Plus 25 action and fourth overall among the young guns in MX-2 Pro.
Rylin Katazinski scored the overall with a pair of moto wins in the 50cc 7-8 division. Sam Wilman and Kasen Andrushko followed Katazinski to the podium respectively.
The 50cc 7-8 fall series podium saw a slightly different podium where Sam Wilman (500) took the series title over Katazinski and Andrusko. Wilman also took home a 65cc B championship ahead of Adam Wiebe and Kasen Andrushko.
Ethan Spagrud grabbed a set of moto wins and the overall in the 65cc B class on the day in Pilot Mound.
Dustin Wiebe grabbed the last moto win of the year and second overall in MX-1 Beginner with 5-1 moto scores behind Levi Baldwin.
Jamie Devloo's 5-5 motos were good for third overall in MX-1 Intermediate action behind Tylor Plett and Michael Giesbrecht.
Another multi-class winner this fall was Tylor Plett. All year long Plett has been on top of both MX-1 and MX-2 Intermediate classes. Plett left Pilot Mound with a pair of championships in each class as well as a promotion to the Pro ranks for 2012.
Taking the last MX-2 Intermediate moto and second overall was Carson Wiebe. No mid-moto pit stop this time, Carson?
Rachel Regier showed her speed this weekend topping Taylor Masse's 1-2 with her own 2-1 motos and the overall.
Although Taylor Masse had to settle for second overall this weekend, she still took home a fall series Ladies class title over Lauren Gilmore and Rachel Regier respectively.
Bryce Wadge managed to dominate the 50cc 4-6 class this fall and earned himself a fall championship.
Another Manitoban who made the big show at Loretta Lynn's this year, Cole Dekoninck took two convincing wins in 85cc 7-11 for an overall as well as a second overall in Supermini.
Andre Peters took a rough tumble in one of his motos and called it a day after that, but still had enough of a points lead in both 85cc 7-11 and 65cc A classes to secure both titles.
Quietly and consistently, Chris Geisbrecht won the MX-1 Pro fall series title over Coard Allard and Josh Pfrimmer.
There was some great racing amongst the front of the MX-3 Junior classes with Devin DeBaets(38) and Brett Foster(330). Both riders swapped moto wins but Foster's 2-1 bested DeBaets' 1-3.
Josh Penner may not have had an ideal race day overall in the MX-3 Junior class but had enough of a points lead to take home a fall series championship in the class.
Myles Outhwaite took home an MX-2 Beginner second overall trophy behind winner Luke Friesen and a head of Brad Rempel.
Luke Friesen topped the MX-2 Beginners for the fall series championship. Brad Rempel and Peter Abrams followed Friesen to the series podium.
Some more great racing was found in both MX-2 Pro motos between Marcus Geisbrecht (301) and Rio Stoesz. The two battled hard both motos with a small mistake from Stoesz in moto two allowed Giesbrecht to get the win and overall on the day.
Rio Stoesz was crowed fall series champion of the MX-2 Pro class over Coard Allard and Marcus Giesbrecht.
Jordan Toews has been on a tear this fall series. Toews took home a MX-1 Junior title over Brett Gaudry and Adam Orvis.
Set to win the Youth B championship, Justin Jensen just about saw his title hopes fall through his hands after stalling his 250f and couldn't get it started again in the first moto..
