This past weekend the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series visited historic Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Despite initial forecasts for rain all day, the weather let up early and after heavy rain early in the morning things cleared up by noon. By the time Dirt Wurx pulled off the tarps the track was dry for the one and only qualifying session in the afternoon. Head over to PulpMX to check out the rest of my LA coverage but with our own Canadian rider, Kyle Beaton, attempting to make his first main event of the season I thought I'd share a few photos here on DMX.

In the end, Kyle came up just short as he finished his heat in 10th place and just missed out on passing Nick Paluzzi for the 9th and final transfer spot. A bad start in the LCQ effectively sealed his fate for another night. Still, his speed was there and if he can get a start he should be able to make his first main event of 2012.

Originally not planning making the drive, Beaton is now more than likely going to head to Oakland this weekend so with a better start there's no reason the Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki pilot shouldn't make the first main event of his 2012 season.

With the schedule postponed, there was lots of waiting around and hanging out.

Kyle had one practice session to get a good qualifying time in. He logged the 5th quickest time in his group and 29th overall.

Beaton's friend, Dustin Harris(L), has been down helping Kyle out this winter.

Beaton rode strong in his heat, working his way to 10th.

He was catching Paluzzi for 9th but came up just short in his bid to make the main event.

A bad start in the LCQ left Beaton trying to make up ground but with only 4 laps it's pretty hard to do much.

Beaton would end up 9th in the LCQ.
