How did you get started in racing?

My ex-fiancé, actually. He is a retired professional road racer for Ducati NA and he started me out with road racing. I then, a few years later, decided to try MX.

As a little girl, did you ever expect to be this deep into a sport like motocross?

Growing up in a strict Asian family, I would have never thought I would be this into motocross. I thought I’d be a doctor by now! (Laughs)

Do you think motocross is harder for a female to compete in?

Nothing is hard or impossible. It’s all about who you have by your side cheering you on.  Being a female in a male dominated sport gives me the drive to show others that, hey, this gal can ride too.

Who is your favourite rider and why?

My little girl. Her free spirit and love for motorcycles tells me, as a parent, I’m doing something right 😉

Is there one lady racer out there that you think has paved the way for other girls to be successful in the sport?

I believe there is not just one lady racer… but all of us gals as a whole. From the little tykes to the moms, such as myself, either riding for the first time or have never stopped! This sport is getting more popular with females every year because of us gals who continue to support each other in this sport.

What Canadian Pro do you look up to and why?

That would actually be all of them because I’m short 😄

What is your favourite track and why?

My favourite track is actually practice track 15. It is a very family oriented environment that makes you feel welcome. You come to the track as a stranger and leave as part of their family

Who is your hero?

My daughter. She taught me how to love again, patience and how to stop and smell the roses. Her smile can brighten up my day even when the clouds are grey.

What were your goals for this season?

To help my daughter ride by herself.

What are your biggest accomplishments?

Honestly, any race I finish without crashing is a BIG accomplishment for me.

What is your favourite part about going to the races?

Eating. No joke… nothing is better than an over-cooked bbq sausage with TONNSSS of mustard.. #omnomnomnom

What do you like to do when you aren’t racing?

Aside from being a super cheerleading mom extraordinaire… I work out like a beast with my personal trainer, Nick Hayward of The Fit Effect, and he is getting prepped and ready for my first OPA bikini fitness show #BEASTMODE. And I play hockey with the boys, fish and shoot guns.

Is it important to have a motocross racer as a boyfriend/husband, or just a bonus?

(Laughs) I would love to have a moto husband! Nothing is better than to be a moto family. Love and support each other in the sport we can all share together. But this is probably why I’m still single.. besides a beard, riding moto is a must… I don’t think I am being too picky 😉

If you ever have children, will they be motocross racers ?

Oh I have a moto princess! And she loves the sport already!

Who do you want to thank?

My friends and family for all their continued support, SheShreds co., Defiance Lifestyle Clothing, The Fit Effect, The Fitness Store WI., HoleShot1.
