Para Snow BikeCross Final | Winter X Games

By Billy Rainford

They are now running an Adaptive and a Para Snow BikeCross event here at the Winter X Games and they are both full medal sports. Adaptive was a demonstration sport last year.

#19 Doug Henry was untouchable in 2017, and he was the one to beat again this year in the Para event.

#71 Will Posey kept him honest, but this was Doug’s to lose again this year.

#19 Doug Henry started on the inside while #7C Blair Morgan was dead centre. Doug grabbed the holeshot and Blair was up in 3rd place early.

Blair looked good but a couple falls put him at the back and trying to make up ground. In the end, he crossed the line in 7th place.

#11 Paul Thacker crossed the line ahead of Blair in 6th place.

#21 Jonathan Stark was 5th.

#27 Leighton Lillie used to race the Canadian Motocross Nationals. He looked good out there and crossed the line in the bronze medal position.

I was impressed with how close #71 Will Posey was able to stay to Doug Henry. He’ll be a threat next year for sure. He took Silver.

#19 Doug Henry looked to have the field covered just sitting on the line; he knew he was the guy. He got out front right away and took it to the checkered flag for another win.

Doug Henry with his gold medal. How good does that look?!

This post-race smile on the face of Blair Morgan says it all. They played his tribute video as they were getting set on the line. It was a pretty special moment. Blair says he’ll be back! See you at the races…
