THE KTM THOR RACING TEAM IS READY TO RACE
CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals – Pre-season announcement
After getting KTM Canada their 3rd MX2 Championship title in a row in 2016, Cole Thompson will be back with the KTM Thor Racing Team & ready to defend his #1 red plate for the 2017 season. During the Canadian MX off-season, Cole has been racing some AMA Supercross as well as the Costa Rica MX Championship. These racing opportunities really allowed him to stay ready to race for his upcoming season. “I’m coming into 2017 with some big expectation for myself and obviously the main one is to defend my #1 plate. I am the healthiest I have ever been starting a season and definitely the more ready to hit the first corner. I can’t wait to get back on the road with the team and get my KTM 250 SX-F Factory Edition on the podium!”
In 2016, Kaven Benoit accumulated a ton of experienced as a rookie in the MX1 class. Already, in his first year aboard his KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition, he accumulated win and podiums. To conclude his learning year, Kaven brought Team Canada to their best results in a long time at the Motocross of Nation, making everybody proud with some incredible starts and race results against the best in the world. Kaven is looking forward to 2017: “2016 will be hard to top but I’m going to gather all my learnings from this past amazing season into building the best possible 2017 summer. Even though my body isn’t 100% healed yet, my mental is stronger than ever and I’m confident that I have done the best preparation possible leading to Kamloops.”
KTM Thor Racing Team Manager Jean-Sébastien Roy comments: “The team strategy is pretty clear to us for this season; apply last year’s learnings to insure the same success if not even better results. We have worked really hard in 2016 with our loyal sponsors to step up our team to the next level and it paid with 2 Canadian National Championship. We have tasted victory and we are ready to do all the necessary to make it happen again in 2017.”
The Team is presently traveling to Kamloops, BC to race the first round of the CMRC Canadian Motocross National at the Whispering Pines MX Park.
We would like to thank Parts Canada, Thor MX, FMF, Dunlop, Motorex, Factory Connection and all the other new and longtime team sponsors.
