Who/what inspired you to get onto a dirt bike and how long have you been racing/riding?

My dad inspired me. He raced and so did my grandpa. I’ve been riding for just over a year.

When not on a dirt bike how do you keep yourself busy? Are you involved in any other sports or extracurricular activities?

Riding Stacyc and bicycles and also swimming.

As a racer, are there any obstacles you feel a female racer has to deal with that maybe a male racer does not?

I think it’s the same. It’s not harder for me being a girl.

From your first ride to where you are now what is something you never thought you would be able to overcome but have?

Giving it all the gas on my Cobra!

This could definitely be what the future of the WMX looks like. | Photo supplied

Who is your all-time favourite rider and why?

Jaylie Gallacher #88 (#188 women’s mx). She is fast and very nice.

What is your favourite track and why?

Thursday night motocross at Portland International Raceway. I really like riding under the lights.

What event do you look forward to most every year? What’s one you don’t ever want to miss?

We have only been doing it one year, but the series trophies at our local track (Moto 541) have trophies taller than me!

Do you have any pre-race rituals?

Drink water. I always just try telling myself to not fall and I’ll do good. In the summer we pour water on my back.

Rowyn plans on being a professional dirt bike racer when she gets older. | Photo supplied

What are your plans for this upcoming season? Any specific events you’re looking forward to?

After Loretta Lynn’s I am excited to get a big Cobra.

What are your biggest accomplishments to date?

Making it to Loretta Lynn’s ranch. I qualified exactly one year to the day of my very first race.

What is the biggest lesson that racing has taught you so far?

It has taught me to be tough and to get back and get on the bike to finish a race after a crash.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Racing dirt bikes and being really good. Like really, really good!

What kind of track/dirt/terrain do you feel you excel at most and why?

I think I’m best at Albany MX because it has a lot of straights and I can go super fast on the straights.

If you ever have children will you give them the option to race as well?

Yes, definitely.

If you could give 1 piece of advice to a female of any age who wants to start riding what would it be?

Once you get out there it’s not that scary and it’s just really fun. Just focus on having good form.

What was your first fear when you started riding and how did you overcome it?

The starts for sure. My first race was at Washougal MX and it was very scary to line up with that many kids.

Good luck at Loretta Lynn’s this summer, Rowyn. | Photo supplied

What was your first race number and how did you choose it?

176 – my dad helped me choose it because he raced too.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Professional dirt bike racer.

Who would you like to thank?

My whole family, Grandma and Grandpa, Jaylie and all my sponsors that help support my dreams.
