How did you get started in racing?

I started riding when I was very young, mainly because I have two older brothers who did it. We would go down south every winter and I would only play around. Eventually, I developed a desire to race.

As a little girl, did you ever expect to be this deep into a sport like motocross?

I think so. I was a little bit of a daredevil when I was a little girl, plus I never enjoyed any ‘girly’ sports. I was bound to end up doing something like this.

Do you think motocross is harder for a female to compete in?

I believe it’s the same. We all battle, maybe just at a slower pace than males. If anything, we do have it a little bit easier because there are fewer females in the sport.

Who is your favourite rider and why?

I’m a big (Ken) Roczen fan. Watching him ride is incredible.

Is there one lady racer out there that you think has paved the way for other girls to be successful in the sport?

Not necessarily, no. I think all the women have contributed. The ladies who show up every weekend are the ones paving the way-they are helping our sport grow. With growth comes improvement, making it easier for women to be successful.

What Canadian Pro do you look up to and why?

Dylan Wright! The guy absolutely rips anywhere he goes! Plus, he’s young with lots of potential and big things in store for him. I believe he will be an icon for Canadian moto.

What is your favourite track and why?

I love Gopher Dunes! I love it because I love the sand, and I can do all the jumps there…that makes me feel fast (Laughs).

Who is your hero?

My dad. He’s my hero, my best friend and my number one fan. He does everything he can possibly do for me, making sure I am as happy as can be.

What were your goals for this season?

Well…I really wanted a top ten number. I believe that if I didn’t break my arm at Ulverton, I would have been there. I guess there is always next year.

What are your biggest accomplishments?

My biggest accomplishment this year was running fifth at Gophers. It was so awesome, it was such a great way to start my season. I did crash last lap, but still finished 8th overall, which I was still really happy with.

What is your favourite part about going to the races?

Definitely, just riding my bike! I also love the social aspect and the time I get to spend with my dad.

What do you like to do when you aren’t racing?

I’m a pretty big gym freak, and that consumes a lot of my time. I also enjoy snowboarding in the winter, but most of my time is now spent at school.

Is it important to have a motocross racer as a boyfriend/partner, or just a bonus?
Its a bonus. People who race moto are like a different breed. We need our significant others to be able to relate to that.

If you ever have children, will they be motocross racers?

No doubt about it. I can’t wait to buy those tiny, little boots!

Who do you want to thank?

I would like to thank Josh at Redemption, Jeff at Gamma, Dragon, Fly, my parents and my boyfriend.
