Off the Cuff with Jacqueline Ross | April 2026

Greetings, Humans,

Lately, I’ve been spending more time in the present, stepping back from social media. Try it for a week if you can; it does wonders for one’s mental health. At least, it has for me.

I’ve been pondering success. What is success, really? According to Webster, it’s a “favorable or desired outcome.” I thought about that. I used to (and sometimes still do) measure it in numbers, scores, or tangible outcomes. But that mindset only adds pressure.

What if we redefined success? What if it was as simple as doing what you said you would do? Success is personal…your definition, not anyone else’s. And better yet, it’s based on effort. Your result will reflect the effort you put in.

If I had understood that 20 years ago…well, no point dwelling on the past. I can only remain present and take the next step forward.

In simple terms: success starts in your mind, with your own definition, and is brought to life through your actions. Whatever the result, it is what it is.

If you’re content, stay in your current mindset. But if you feel called to rise a little higher, your thinking will have to change first. That shift is the catalyst for improved action. As Albert Einstein once said, “We can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it.”

Forever a ponderer,
Jacqueline
