What a weekend it was for the GDR Honda Team at Round 6 of the Canadian Triple Crown Series at Sand Del Lee! They took wins in the 250 and 450 classes in front of a solid crowd for Military Appreciation. Added to this, they had, in my opinion, the best graphics for the occasion.

Let’s get straight to some of the stories from Sunday before I switch over to doing the Callus Moto Highlight videos.

WMX:

1. 301 Jordan Jarvis. This is the Jarvis I expected to see every weekend. She qualified first and won both motos. She’s from Florida and loves the sand, so watch for more of this at MX Deschambault.
2. 2 Kaylie Kayer. There’s pretty good parody behind Jarvis and Jamie Astudillo. Depending on the track, we could see wither Kayer, Brandy McLarty, or Kiana Kurtz in that 3rd spot. I’d say Kayer has the speed advantage though.
3. 7 Brandy McLarty. Brandy also loves the sand and it showed. She said she only qualified 11th, so she showed she can perform when needed.
4. 4 Kiana Kurtz. Kiana will need to start with the top couple riders to see if she can run that pace.
5. 1 Jamie Astudillo. Jamie is not a sand rider and didn’t help herself by crashing in turn 1 and having to come from way dead last in moto 1. She messed up in moto 2 and dropped back before remounting a charge and closing in on McLarty for 4th. She will need some help to win this title.

250:

1. 24 Dylan Rempel. Dylan and Ryder Malinoski have separated themselves from the rest of the 250 riders. That last corner pass in moto 1 was incredible…so I’m told. I decided to stand after the checkered flag for the first time and missed it 🤦‍♂️
2. 27 Josh Boaz. Josh said in our interview that he got a big boost of confidence last week and that he’s getting more and more comfortable on the bike. He’s just a tick off the top couple riders right now.
3. 29 Kyle Murdoch. Kyle got the chance to pit in the Kawasaki SSR pits this week and it had a positive effect. He didn’t realize he was 2nd at the flag in moto 2 after Malinoski’s troubles and was pumped to hit the podium.
4. 73 Crayden Dillon. Crayden passed his way up to 4th in moto 1 but wasn’t able to do the same in moto 2. I’m not sure what caused his 8th place, but he has shown he’s a top rider in the class this season.
5. 31 Ryder Malinoski. His last corner pass was legendary and then he chased Rempel down in traffic in moto 2 and was starting put some time on him. He was passed the halfway mark of the final lap of the race when his bike let go, leaving him walking back to the pits for a DNF. He and Rempel are top of the class now without the young American Kawasaki riders in the line-up.

450:

1. 9 Dylan Wright. Dylan had to do some Dylan things this week and passed his way to the front and then went on to win in front of one of his home crowds. He looked like the Dylan we all expect to see every week.
2. 151 Harri Kullas. I didn’t expect Harri to be able to run with Dylan on our tracks, but he has proven he’s very close to his pace.
3. 2 Preston Kilroy. Preston is the new guy in the 450 class, but I don’t think many. are surprised that he’d be fast on it. He’ll continue to get more comfortable and be a force in 2027.
4. 12 Sebastien Racine. Sebastien has separated himself from the next couple riders in the class and just needs a tiny bit more to be a podium guy every week. It’s there.
5. 14 Quinn Amyotte. Quinn has been a nice surprise in the class this season. He and his teammate #84 Tanner Ward are in a battle for top spot at the Priority MX GasGas team.

Oh, did someone ask what really grinds my gears? I’ll tell you…

We need to get the podium positions right every week. When you’re looking at the podium from the crowd, 2nd place is on the left! It drives me nuts. It wasn’t the riders’ fault, they just lined up in front of where their bikes got placed on the stands. I tried to get them to move but then it would have looked dumb not having them in front of their specific bikes, so we just left it. It can’t be that difficult to remember this order. Maybe it will help whoever is setting this up to think that 2nd place is the winner’s “right-hand man” and that’s where they stand? I don’t know and I’m not sure who needs to read this.

AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Millville

We now head to Motocross Deschambault for the ECAN and then Round 7 of 8 of the Pro Nationals. Safe travels to all the families making the drive and I’ll see you all there on Thursday. You can register until midnight tonight (Monday)!

PS In our Race Tech ‘Walk and Talk,’ Jordan said she really wished she was able to make up even more points on Jamie in 2nd because she wants to line up in the 250 Pro class at Walton.
