I made it home from Loretta’ Lynn’s on Sunday afternoon. I will say that my head is still a little cloudy from that week-long event in 35-37C and humidity like you’ve rarely experienced. The first couple days were rough for me, as I don’t think I got the sleep I needed to put in a full day in that soupy weather. By Thursday, I was actually handling it much better. Honestly, if you’ve never been to the middle of Tennessee in August, you have no idea just how crazy the humidity is.

Canadians won 3 titles this year, and I’m sure that has to be a record. Not only that, we had one Canadian win 2 championships! #30 Mason Murdy from Norwood, Ontario, won both Mini Sr 1 and Mini Sr 2 titles. Also, I heard a Canadian had never won 2 motos in a row and Mason went out and won 3 this year. He had a banner week, to say the least!

Mason finished 3-6-1 for the Mini Sr 1 title and 4-1-1 for the Mini Sr 2 title. Pretty amazing.

Then we had #72 Gavin Wilson from Airdrie, Alberta, win the 250 C Ltd. title with 1-3-1 motos.

And #17 Lincoln Green from Lake Country, BC won a moto in the C class, too. 6-6-1 motos put him 3rd overall in the 250 C class. He couldn’t buy a start in the first 2 motos and had to come from last place each time. He finally grabbed a start and took the 3rd moto win to give him 3rd place.

And I’m happy to report that #37 Trent Mulder from Lakeside, Ontario, is doing well after that horrible first turn crash that took both him and #33 Cole Maxey down. COle was able to get back to the starting line after they red flagged the race, but Trent was taken away on the medic mule with concern about his neck and back.

I heard he was actually doing OK and he confirmed that this morning in a quick Instagram conversation. Whew.

I have…well, had, the whole thing on video but it looks like I didn’t download that card to my laptop on Friday night and then formatted it on Saturday morning. Yes, I threw a little bit of a fit just now.

There were lots of stories of our Canadians over the week, and I’ll try to get to telling them as soon as I can. The problem is, we’re now heading straight into the TransCan at Walton Raceway, like, today, so I’m not sure when I’ll have time to do them justice.

WSX Round 1 in Calgary

I have to say that having the WSX race in Canada during our MX season, during the AMA Pro Motocross season, and between Loretta Lynn’s and the TransCan at Walton Raceway isn’t ideal. Our media is spread out all over the place and it’s pretty difficult to give this race the coverage we want to.

FINAL RACE OF FIM WORLD SUPERCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP CANADIAN GP CONCLUDES EARLY DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER | RESULTS

Calgary, Canada, 8 August 2026: The FIM World Supercross Championship can confirm that the final SX1 race of the Canadian GP has been concluded early due to a flash storm in the area.

The decision was taken by the FIM in the interests of the safety of riders, teams, officials, event staff and fans in attendance, which remains the championship’s highest priority.

Final SX1 race results and sporting outcomes will be communicated shortly.

Despite the early conclusion of the final race, the Canadian GP delivered a fantastic evening of racing and entertainment. World Supercross would like to extend its sincere thanks to the fans, riders, teams, partners, volunteers and event staff who helped make the championship’s debut in Calgary such a memorable occasion.

For those in the Calgary area, please remain safe and follow guidance from local authorities as weather conditions continue to develop.

Practice has started up in Walton, so I’ll head up to catch the opening ceremonies this evening. I’ll record them and then post them up to our YouTube channel. I often try to go live with them but usually end up having some connection difficulties, so I’ll record and then post.
