Frid’Eh Update #35 | Nathan Germain Interview | Brought to You by Dirt Care
By Billy Rainford

Welcome to Week #35 of the DMX Frid’Eh Update brought to you by Dirt Care. Since I’m at Ironman MX in Indiana for the final round of the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, there’s been no time for much of an “Update,” so this one will consist of just our interview.
#35 belongs to Nathan Germaine from Stoneham, Quebec. Nathan is only 18 and has been improving steadily the past few years. We grabbed him to talk about his season and his plans. Here’s what he had to say.

Direct Motocross: Hello, Nathan. Your number moved up nicely from last summer. You finished 10th in the 250 class this season, down from 15th in 2025. How do you think your season went this year?
Nathan Germaine: Hello, Billy. My season went pretty good. I’ve been able to get better results than last year and repeat it a couple times. I had a couple small crashes and bad luck which caused me bad results a few times, but, for the most part, I’m happy and there is progress for sure.
You missed the first 2 western rounds and your best finish was a 5th overall at Ste Julie. With even 10-10 points out west, you could have finished 4th in the series. Does that make you want to head west in 2027? Will you?
Yes, it makes me wanna go for sure. I was supposed to go but just before I was set to leave I had bike problems so we decided to fix it and be ready for the east coast.

You moved up again to #27 for 2027. How do you like that number? Do you care what number you are?
I’m okay with it. 27 is a good number, but I would like to choose my number. I don’t like to change every year 😂.
Which track is your favourite on the series and why?
My favourite track on the series it Deschambault. It’s my home track and I grew up there so it’s always fun to race in front of Quebec fans, friends and family.
Let’s get your numbers. What is your age, height, and weight? We get personal on Fridays! Lol
I’m 18 years old, 155 pounds, and 5 feet 11 inches.

You’re actually from the hometown of this column’s title sponsor, Dirt Care. What is your connection to Christian and JP? I assume you’ve known them a long time?
Christian and JP have been good friends of my family for a long time, we are really close. We also live 5 minutes away and Christian coached me a lot when I was younger.
What have you been up to the past couple weeks since Walton? I don’t see a score for you at Franklin last week?
I’ve been doing school, work with my dad at his mechanics shop and I’m still riding and training. I had a good crash at Franklin and left the race with a DNF in both motos.
Do you want to race Supercross or AMA Motocross in the future?
Maybe if I sign with a factory team, but for now it’s just too expensive 😂. But I’m not a Supercross guy I would like to race outdoors for sure.

You mentioned work. What is it you do for work?
I’m going to school and work with my dad at his mechanic shop.
What other sports do you like or do?
I love snowboarding. I’ve been doing it a lot. I was on a snowboarding program at school and I was doing it every day. I also like golfing.
And what kind of music do you listen to?
I like punk music and Katy Perry when I’m snowboarding.
That answer confuses me. Lol What are your winter plans?
I don’t know yet, but if I’m going to ride I might go to WW Ranch. I love that place.

And what are your racing plans for 2027?
Maybe the Triple Crown Series championship and some Challenge Quebec races. That’s the plan.
OK, thanks for the chat this week. Good luck and who would you like to thank?
