Frid’Eh Update #46 | Nathan Germain | Brought to You by Dirt Care
By Billy Rainford

It was Week #46 for the DMX Frid’Eh Update brought to you by Dirt Care. I’m currently in Vancouver for Round 2 of the 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship, so this Update will consist of our conversation with #46 Nathan Germain from Stoneham, Quebec.

Direct Motocross: Hello, Nathan. I think this is our first Frid’Eh Update Interview, so we’d better back things up. Can we start with a quick introduction? How old are you, where are you from, and how did you get into Motocross in the first place?
Nathan Germain: Hi, Billy. I’m 17 years old and I’m from Stoneham, Quebec. I started riding at the age of 4. It was my dad, who already rode motocross, who taught me how to ride on the street near my house with my PW50.
I know your amateur number was #237. Is there a story behind how you chose that number?
I don’t know if you can really call it a story, but this number comes from my birthday, November 23, 2007. So 23 for the day and 7 for the year.
Give us your age, height, and weight.
I’m 17 years old, I weigh 155 pounds, and I’m 5 feet 11 inches tall.

What year did you turn Pro and how did that season go for you?
I turned Pro in 2024, so this summer was my second year as a Pro. It wasn’t my best season. I was hoping for better but I took it as a learning year since it was my first season with the pros, and I had never ridden most of the tracks on the national circuit before.
You raced the east nationals last summer. Your results were sort of all over the place with some very solid finishes! Can you tell us how your season went from your perspective?
My season went really well. I managed to get my best results ever by finishing in the top 5 in the first moto at Deschambault. I got several top 10 finishes, which was my goal. I had a bit of bad luck that caused me not to finish two motos, which wasn’t great, but overall I’m happy with what I accomplished. I also saw progress compared to the previous year, so I know that all my hard work paid off.
You finished 15th in the series still and will be #35 for 2026. Are you happy with that?
Finishing 15th isn’t a result I’m satisfied with, but since I missed three rounds, I can’t really complain. As for the number 35, it’s not as far as 46, but I won’t lie I was starting to really like my number 46.

What have you been up to since the season ended? Do you work when you’re not on the bike?
Since the nationals ended, I’ve done a few provincial races and kept practicing on my local track. It’s now been three weeks since I’ve been at Club57 in Florida for training. I have one more week of training left before I head back home. During the winter, I work at the Stoneham ski resort, which is just five minutes from my house, and I’m still going to school.
Any chance I’ll see you at the Mini O’s later this month?
Maybe if some spots open up in the A class, because I’m not registered and there are no spots left at the moment.
I saw you last winter down at GPF training for the season. What will you do this winter?
I don’t think I’ll be going back to GPF this winter. I’m currently at Club57, and my plan is to come back here to train. I really like the place and the training. I’m not exactly sure when I’ll be returning, but I should be here around March, and hopefully for a bit longer.
Are you thinking about chasing some Supercross racing? Is that in your future?
Chasing some Supercross races isn’t in my plans right now, but for sure in the future I’d like to practice a bit of Supercross and maybe try racing. I think every racer would like to race Supercross at least once in their life.
Do you have a plan for next summer yet? Will we see you out west?
Next summer, I’ll definitely be doing the East coast rounds. It’s not sure yet for the West coast rounds. I’m working on it but there’s a good chance I’ll do the full championship. I’ll also be racing in the Challenge Québec Championship rounds when there are no Nationals.

Do you play any other sports? What else interests you away from Motocross? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love snowboarding. I live at the bottom of the mountain and I also work there. At school, I was enrolled in a snowboard program, so I used to ride every day. I’ve been snowboarding since I was a little kid, and it’s definitely my other favourite sport. I also like mountain biking and hanging out with my friends.
OK, thank you for taking some time with us for Week #46. Good luck and who would you like to thank?
I would like to thank my mom and dad for everything they do for me, Dirt Care, Troy Lee Designs, RP Race, Oakley, Groupetorx,MD Distribution, Seco, K Graph, Structuremsa, Isolationpremium, Ventilationcf, Carstarcharlesbourg, Mica Excavation, Stratégica, Serge Bureau, Service Régent.
