Off the Cuff with Jacqueline Ross | July 2026
Here’s this month’s ‘Off the Cuff’ motivational column by former WMX champion, Florida’s Jacqueline Ross, for July 2026
Greetings, Humans,
Lately, I’ve had a lot of time to think, ponder, wonder, dream and practice keeping my spirits lifted. As I recover from yet another knee surgery (my other knee), I’ve realized that healing isn’t just physical. In many ways, the mental therapy is just as important. When you’ve spent a lifetime overriding your pain threshold, eventually, your body asks you to listen. Know thyself. With all this unexpected “time,” I noticed something about myself: I wanted to rush the process. How much longer is this going to take? Ahem… no pity parties, Jacqueline.
I recently came across an anonymous quote that made me stop and think:
“If you ask the grass, the zebra is the monster and the lion is the protector.”

: @garrettolvermediaPerspective changes everything. I’ve spent my whole life walking on the grass without ever considering its point of view. Funny how we do the same with our own lives. We get so caught up in the story we’ve created that we forget there may be another way to see it.
Some days feel endless and arduous, while others disappear in the blink of an eye. But maybe healing isn’t asking, “How much longer?” Maybe it’s asking, “What is this season trying to teach me?“
If you ask the healer, impatience is the monster… and time is the blessing.
Jacqueline
