Who/what inspired you to get onto a dirt bike and how long have you been racing/riding?

When I was younger, I raced BMX and absolutely loved it—it was a huge part of my childhood and something I took to a high level. I’ve always had a passion for racing, and when COVID-19 put BMX on pause, I decided to take it to the next level by racing with a motor. I’ve been hooked ever since.

When not on a dirt bike how do you keep yourself busy? Are you involved in any other sports or extracurricular activities?

When I’m not on the bike, I’m usually training or working on bikes. I love working out, and honestly, outside of that, it’s pretty much moto all the time.

Who is your all-time favourite rider and why?

My all-time favourite rider would have to be Lachlan Turner. Watching her race and set a whole new standard for girls in moto is truly inspiring.

The TransCan is an event Rylee never wants to miss.

What event do you look forward to most every year? What’s one you don’t ever want to miss?

TransCan is a week-long event and one of the most exciting parts of the season. We train for it almost all year, and the level of intensity at that race is incredible. It’s also really interesting to see how different riders handle the pressure. And over all just a really fun event.

Do you have any pre-race rituals?

One of my biggest pre-race rituals is that I always pray on the start line and touch my front number plate. It feels like a little prayer between me and my bike, and it gets me in the right mindset. By that point, all the training is done, and you’re as ready as you can be—so I just throw it up to the Lord and go out there to do what I know how to do.

What are your plans for this upcoming season? Any specific events you’re looking forward to?

I’m really looking forward to the 2026 season. My goal is to be much more prepared for TransCan, and I’m also aiming to race at ECAN and Mini O’s, which are two of the biggest events of the year. I’d love to bring home some podiums along the way.

Rylee hopes to race the Mini O’s this November.

What kind of track/dirt/terrain do you feel you excel at most and why?

I’m hard pack all the way, sand is not exactly my strong suit, and I love that rough, rocky, rutted and dry type of track condition. I also do like a good mudder once in awhile.

If you ever have children will you give them the option to race as well?

Yes, definitely! I think moto is amazing for kids—it teaches so many valuable life lessons, especially how to handle the ups and downs of the sport. The moto community itself is one of the best out there. (And honestly, little kids on PW 50s are just the cutest! lol)

What was your first race number and how did you choose it?

That’s actually kind of a funny story. When I first started, I had a Kawasaki 85, and I really wanted my bike to be pink. Since we were just starting out and didn’t know much yet, we ordered graphics for an 85cc bike—which, of course, came with the number 85 on them as that was the size of bike. So my number wasn’t really planned, it just came with the graphics! Over time, though, I switched it to 185.

Watch for Rylee at a WMX National in 2026.

Do you see yourself ever competing in the Canadian WMX Triple Crown series? Or have you competed in the WMX Triple Crown Series? What are your thoughts on the series?

I definitely see myself competing in the WMX Triple Crown Series, and my ultimate goal is to win it one day. I’m planning on racing my first WMX event next year and committing to the full series for the 2026 season.

Who would you like to thank?

I would like to thank FXR racing, HMX moto co., Conway consulting, 6D helmets, grip clean Canada, full factory moto, Kapsul tech and of course most of all my mom and dad.
