Here’s our tongue in cheek look at Round 15 of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series at Acrisure Stadium in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. It’s mostly fun with captions but you may also manage to learn a few things, but don’t hold your breath.
For starters, this round and Nashville are my 2 favourite rounds to visit. If we go back in 2026, I’ll bring Emily along and we’ll spend a couple days enjoying Pittsburgh. It’s not what I thought it was at all!We hadn’t been here since 1983! The city was pumped for its return and the vibe was electric from the start of the day. You had to be there to feel it. We’re told it was a sell out, so hopefully that brings us back next year, however, we won’t be doing 4 in a row in the north east, so something will have to give. It was Broc “Goldenboy” Glover who took the win in 1983. This must have been one of the best days of his life. He was treated like royalty.I don’t know anything about Ghost Hounds but they played live during Fan Fest in the pits.Unfortunately, people didn’t really seem to care very much about the live concert. I told Joe that the same thing happened when the CMRC tried to have Saturday night concerts that one summer up here in Canada. I like to call it the Jeffery Homes Yamaha team. That’s Scott and Pam Jeffery of said home company in the Club MX pits. Scott said it’s not about the size of your stickers. Look closely…The track was actually perfect, but that meant they’d pushed the mud off to the side of the track. It could be found if you went looking…This spot under the overpass is where you’d go to get cleaned up. Oh, and we parked in that parkade on the right. When I left at midnight i had to turn right and immediately stopped. Since it’s downtown, the rigs had to go to the next light and be turned around. It literally took me an hour to go the lights down by that beige building in the near distance. I’ll plan that better if we return next year.I had to snap a shot of the screen to show how big the football player on the right is compared to Lurch. Yikes. We just had 4 rounds close to the border but not one Canadian in the line-up. At least they didn’t yank the flag down! We still had the Canadian-owned Partzilla PRMX team.Brown Dog Wilson and I made our way up to this corner of the stadium to get the opening ceremonies/skyline shots. And then it was time to go racing. Here’s Cooper Webb channelling his inner 30-second board girl. Someone get him a sign! You’ve got to try really hard to get a photo of Tristan Lane not smiling. ✅Our old friend Bobby Piazza has been hitting all these races and was down at the gate by himself. Did I help? No, but I snapped a photo!Being an old guy whose favourite year of racing may have actually been on an 80 in 1983, I spent a lot of time on Jared Lesher’s tribute bike. We even posted a video on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. He gets a second photo here. Hardy Munoz is one of my favourite riders to watch. He definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat!Ah crap.Can-Con! That’s Jack Chambers’ mechanic Frank from Quebec.I usually wait for Joe Kremkow to see me before snapping, but not this time. I always tell people that the seemingly awful minutes before gate drop is what you end up missing when you stop racing. But I realize it’s hard to believe when you’re living it.Ken Roczen would end up finishing 6th.Dylan Ferrandis has looked a lot better lately. He was 7th and was with Dean Wilson for at least 5 laps again this week.I usually wait for Grant Harlan to give me a “Big Wave” photo op, but not this week.Logan Karnow yukking it up between Chase Sexton and Aaron Plessinger on the line.Partzilla PRMX teammates Mitchell Harrison (17th) and Cade Clason (21st).Logan Leitzel had his holeshot device break while on the line.I went over to help keep him relaxed but he didn’t need my help. LolTiger Wood on the line for the SMX Next final. He finished 10th.Landen Gordon was one of the favourites to take the championship. He started up front, dropped to 3rd and finished 2nd.My money was on Alex Fedortsov. Wait, I’m not allowed to bet, that’s not what I meant! Kade Johnson won in the mud at the last race so I guess he went looking for it in qualifying? He goes very well in the dry too and worked his way to 4th after being down in T2, but finished 12th after a late mistake.Landon Gordon is another rider who was in the podium conversation. He was down and at the back early but finished 4th.Enzo Temmerman worked his way up to a podium spot in 3rd.Fedortsov took over the lead early and never looked back to win this championship.Proud father moment.Mike Bonacci, Alex, Dad, Brandon Haas.“Shaka brah” from Scott Meshey.Hunter Schlosser has been to Canada to join us for some racing.Different gate drop, still yukking it up.Joan Cros.Marvin Musquin keeping a close watch on things. This was definitely the one that got away on Nate Thrasher.Tom Vialle tried an inside block once……but got shut down.He was left an opening again……and made it stick to take the win.And just like that…BOOM, the red plate goes back to France.Seth Hammaker now finds himself 1 point behind Tom after taking 5th with just the Dave Coombs East/West Showdown to go in Salt Lake City.RJ Hampshire crashed and finished 4th after chasing Max Vohland. He sits 3 points down, making SLC very interesting.Vinny Luhovey is from just 40 miles down the road. He made the Main and finished 20th.Max Vohland looked great and took his first 250 podium in 3rd.Le Big getting the content for France. All Access?! I guess you have to know someone! 🤣
It’s time for some pit boards:
Cooper with the “Who’s your daddy?” over the line. “Put this one to bed”? Either way……there was no high five or hand shake after this one.Chase Sexton was super-un-Dungey pumped after this one. Cooper Webb knew this may have been the biggest win of the season.Chase had the pace to win, but…He knew the importance of that race and admitted he will now “need help” to win this title.Yep, that pretty much sums it up. Maybe it’s Cooper who should be called “The Robot.”And then the night ended with the biggest laugh of the night when I asked the SMX Next podium if anyone is planning to replicate what Drew Adams did last summer and come to Canada. Enzo: “I don’t plan on going to Canada…” That’ll do it from Pittsburgh. I hope we return in 2026. “See you at the races…“
