When we learned that standout WMX racer from Florida Jordan Jarvis has signed to race the 2026 Canadian Triple Crown Series WMX Motocross Nationals for the newly-formed Dusty Rocks MX team, we got in touch with her to get her thoughts and learn how it all came together. We asked her a few questions for this instalment of “5 Minutes With…

Direct Motocross: Hello, Jordan. Let’s start with a bit of personal information. Where are you from and how did you get started racing Motocross? Was Moto always where you were heading?

Jordan Jarvis: I am from Leesburg, Florida, (west of Orlando) and I got started racing Motocross because my dad did it when he was younger and he put me on a bike very young and I fell in love with it. Motocross was always what I wanted to do and I’m very lucky I’ve been able to make it happen and make it my career.

We’ve followed your career since you were on little bikes. You’re a 9-time AMA Champion but how many times have you raced in Canada and how has it gone?

I’ve only raced in Canada twice. I did the Walton race in ’22 and ’23 (’23 and ’24) I believe. It went well. I’m pretty sure I ended up with 1-1 scores for the overall win both times.

You raced the American WMX series in 2025 and finished 4th. With the way both series are arranged, you won’t really be able to do any of the early US rounds, will you? Can you take us through how this whole deal to come to Canada for the Dusty Rocks MX team came about and why it makes sense for you now?

I’m actually going to be doing both. The WMX in the States actually runs on Friday and Saturday, so I will fly out Saturday after I race to head to Canada. I’ve always wanted to race in other countries and I’ve wanted to do a least one full season in Canada, since that first time I raced Walton. So when someone had asked if it was okay to give my contact info to a team I was all for it.

You obviously know Jamie Astudillo and Eve Brodeur from your years of competing with them. We’ve got some pretty fast WMX riders climbing the ranks. I’m pretty sure you’ll run the table, but how do you see your Canadian summer adventure going and what are you looking forward to?

I see my summer going really well. Travis (Deglow) at Dusty Rocks is amazing and is making sure I’m well taken care of. I’m super excited for everything to start, but in the meantime I’m going to get some time to ride and train with the other guys on the team and get to do some really cool things. I think I’m going to be very prepared going into the summer months and, most importantly, I know I’m going to have a lot of fun and I get to ride with some new people and a new team and I’m so excited!

Our series doesn’t start until June, so what will you be doing between now and then? Where will you be training and what pre-season races will you do?

I was actually picked to go back to Australia with Team USA to compete again in the women’s Oceanic Cup, so I’m getting ready for that. But after that I will be trying to ride as much as I can and join the rest of the guys and train with them.

Well, this is pretty big news for our WMX series. Good luck with all your preparation. See you soon, and who would you like to thank?

I have to thank Travis and the whole Dusty Rocks MX crew for giving me this chance. Also, Yamaha of Canada for helping the team out as well. I also need to thank FXR, 6D, CTI, Atlas, and everyone else from the States who still continues to support me and all my crazy adventures.
