Frid’Eh Update #14 | Quinn Amyotte | Brought to You by Dirt Care
Week #14 belongs to Priority MX Fox GasGas rider Quinn Amyotte from Blackstock, Ontario, and is brought to you by Dirt Care cleaners and lubricants.
By Billy Rainford

Welcome to Week #14 of the DMX Frid’Eh Update brought to you by Dirt Care. As I sit here in my office looking out the window, it’s actually 23C outside. Finally. Of course, it’s not going to last as we’ll hit single digits and even the freezing mark as a hight this coming Tuesday. It’s been a pretty wild ride so far this spring; wilder than usual.
In my neck of the woods, I know that both Gopher Dunes (1 hour away) and Motopark (2 hours away) will be open for riding this long, Easter weekend, so hopefully the same can be said for wherever it is you’re reading this from. And while we’re talking about Gopher Dunes, you should also know that they carry Dirt Care cleaners and lubricants in the pro shop, so make sure you load up on it when you’re there, as they are the sponsor of this very column.
I’m back to feeling well again, but the same can’t quite be said for Emily, who I kindly passed my illness on to. It sounds like just about everyone has had this cold, so if you’re right now saying, “Hmm, I haven’t…” you should probably batten down the hatches.
My plan was to be at every eastern round of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship which means I should be typing this from St. Louis right now, but after paying $4.12/gallon at the Sarnia/Port Huron border last week after Detroit, it’s just not in the cards to drive the 1040km/10 hours to “The Gateway to the West” this year.
I always mention this but the geography is very interesting when you hit St. Louis. As its nickname suggests, it changes right there, and it’s not kidding! East of the city is farming and fields like you’d see here in southwestern Ontario, but as soon as you squirt out the west side of it your suddenly in ranch land. It’s wild. The Illinois, the Missouri, and the Mississippi rivers all flow through and around the area.

It’s also the 2nd East/West 250 Showdown and the St Jude Children’s Hospital round, so I really didn’t want to miss it. Haiden Deegan showed that he’s got the rest of the field covered at the first Showdown in Birmingham, but you know that isn’t sitting well with his teammate Cole Davies, Seth Hammaker, Levi Kitchen or any of the other top competitors in the 250 class. They’ll all have one more chance to go after him after this when the series finishes up in Salt Lake City.

The 450 class saw changes after round 11 in Detroit last week. With points leader Hunter Lawrence having a Saturday he’d like to forget, Eli Tomac emerged with the points lead as Ken Roczen took the win. It was a wild night in the Motor City.

But it’s Quinn Amyotte who gets the honours for Week #14 of the Frid’Eh Update. I always like chatting with Quinn and I’ve known him since he was a little kid on a little bike. He’s won our Mr. Congeniality award and our Most Improved Rider award over the years and is always a great interview.
Quinn took advantage of a rather strange 2025 in the Canadian Triple Crown Series Motocross Nationals 450 class and finished 4th in the 8-round championship. Not only did Phil Nicoletti win the title without an overall win, but series favourites Dylan Wright and Jess Pettis managed to take themselves out of the conversation with crashes, problems, and injuries.
Here’s a look at Quinn’s 2025 season in Canada:

Hmm, the new Triple Crown website doesn’t lend itself very well to what I need it for. I’ll have a chat with them. They’ll love that…
Anyway, I thought I’d leave this interview as an audio podcast so you can actually hear what Quinn had to say as he was saying it. Not only that, it keeps me from having to type it al out…
If you’d prefer to read the interview, I’ve copy/pasted the transcript from what they give you on Apple Podcasts. They only let you copy 200 words at a time, so it’s a little time consuming. Therefore, I’ve left all of their mistakes and mis-spellings in here for you to correct in your heads and have some fun with.
For week number 14, we know who that is, that’s Quinn Amyotte. He’s been number 14 for a while, so we’re gonna grab him on the phone here, do a little podcast interview with him. We’ll see if it, we’ll let it print it out as well, and I don’t, it just takes so long to edit, so you get what you get when we get the, when the transcript prints out.
This is a Friday update number 14, we’ve got Quinn Amyotte on the phone. Quinn, buddy, thanks for taking some time with us this week.
Of course, thanks for having me.
Yeah, man, I mean, I did just see you a couple of weeks ago down there at Dreamland in Florida.
Yeah, yeah, you’re too busy for us, though. Had to get the GPF in the same day.
I know, well, then I had to get to Indianapolis. Oh yeah, it was a bit of a whirlwind, heavy on the H. Hey, where are you right now?
I am at Club MX.
Okay, yeah, you talked about that was your next stop, so now you’re there. Well, let’s back it up to Dreamland first, man. I mean, you’ve”
“been going, when did you start going down there?
And how did you get to know Cody and Luke so well?
So I started going there, I believe in 22, the winter of 22, and to ride Supercross. And then I kind of just met them through there. And then yeah, became friends with Luke and Cody and have been going there ever since.
Okay. Hey, speaking of Supercross, what’s the Supercross dream? Is it dead or what’s going on?
Yeah, I think that one’s a little past for me now. I did it, had my fun, made the races, and it’s just the risk versus reward for the Canadians just isn’t quite worth it. So…
Really? Did you have all your stuff set up and everything? Your bike was all set up when you tried it?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I had everything I needed. I was with the Manloc crew at the time, and they were like partnered with Rock River.
So when I went and did it, I was like with the Rock River team. So yeah, no, it was good.
Which rounds did you do? I can’t even refresh my memory.”
“I did Tampa, Arlington, and then Daytona, and I broke my wrist at Daytona. Oh, man.
Okay, okay.
Yeah.
Gotcha. All right. It’s coming back to me now.
Fuzzy memories.
Yeah. Yeah.
Okay. All right. So your time there, who were you all there with?
I mean, when I was there, there was kind of a mixture of people. Did more of your team show up or how did it go?
No, so it was kind of just the crew that was there when you were there, like Kerr, Shoochuk, all those guys. Johnny Bergeron was there. Just rode with them.
And then the team, we all kind of met up here at club now. And then that was kind of the whole point. So me, Cole, and Tanner, we’re all living together.
And yeah, we’ve been riding that club for the last two weeks now. And we got another couple of weeks.
Club MX Training

Okay. Well, what do you, I mean, I always talk to the guys lately about this, because there’s just so many changes going on there at club. It’s going through the roof.”
“ps of riding and then the Supercross group. So it’s pretty hectic in here, especially with one little gym. But it’s been good.
It’s been good changing it up, getting the intensity up, battling with like a bunch of different levels of people. So it’s good.
Are you signed in with like the food plan and all that stuff too? Or what do you do? Are you just your own thing or what do you do?
Yeah.
So I’m doing a bit of their food plan. The first week I did all of it, but I’m just doing the lunches now. But yeah, it’s cool that they offer everything.
Like you can literally live here and just be on their program and be you’re good.
All right. OK. So you had Cody Rensland obviously training you, you know, doing your training type stuff down at Dreamland.
Who’s doing it there now? Are you still in the same program? Who’s helping out now?
No, so I’m doing their program here. Hayden is the trainer here, and I’ve just been doing it with him. It’s kind of it’s just easier doing it with the trainer that you’re training on bike with.”
“So he knows how much effort got put in during the day and stuff. So it just makes the off bike training easier. But yeah, it’s been going good.
It’s roughly the same ideas when I was doing at Dreamland. So definitely not too too much of a change, which is nice.
All right. Now, what’s your I mean, I would guess you’re more of a kind of a laid back type dude, but do you like the discipline and it’s pretty like I said, discipline is the word, I guess. Like they’re pretty you don’t mess around there at Club MX.
Yeah, I mean, yeah, I don’t know. I’m definitely laid back, but I am definitely pretty strict on my program. Like I don’t veer far.
So it’s it hasn’t been hard for me or anything. Like it’s pretty easy. Like you just got to show up on time and do your work.
And it’s that’s that’s pretty much it. So, yeah, it’s they’re definitely stricter here on like some of the amateur guys that haven’t quite learned the discipline side of things. But yeah, it’s as long as you show up, it’s it’s not too hard.
All right”
“OK. Now, what are you guys doing? I mean, last time I was there, obviously, they’re doing like gate drops and sprint races and races and all kind.
You still doing all that stuff? You’re getting lots of gate drops.
Yeah, once a week, they do gate drop into sprint races and then that’s other than that. That’s about it. But today, Thursdays are those days.
So it’s good to get every once in a while. Me and Tanner have been battling, so it’s been fun.
Rivalry and Speed
OK. Well, yeah, I definitely want to ask you about you and Tanner battling for sure. But pardon me.
Yeah, well, let’s ask you that right now. Obviously, Tanner ended up second. You ended up fourth last year in the championship.
Obviously, it was kind of an anomaly of a season there last year. It’s a bit strange with, you know, Jess and Dylan, right? Having their problems and stuff.”
“But obviously, stopwatch going up against Tanner. I mean, that’s obviously something you’re paying attention to. How are you guys stacking up against each other?
Yeah, it’s been good. We’re pretty similar. He’s got like he’s got the speed on me at the start of the motos.
He’s got like a good sprint speed. So like every moto we’ve done together that we haven’t like actually started together, he’ll pull a little gap and then we’ll just stay there for the rest of the moto. And it’s happened every single moto we’ve done together since I’ve been down here.
But like 10 minutes into the moto, we’re pretty much pacing lap times. But yeah, he’s got that little sprint speed on me right now that we’re trying to get figured out. But we still got some time.
Yeah, that sounds like a super basic question I want to ask you here. But it’s interesting. Like I know, you know, say someone at an below you guys level, you’re going out, you’re riding.
Even if you are just burning gas, you’re still improving, right? Because just more bike time. But for you guys, like what the heck are you working on?”
“Are they watching going, Quinn, you know, you want to break later? Quinn, you want like, what do you work on? Like, are you getting faster?
Yeah, that’s a tough thing. At Dreamland, we definitely work on technique a lot. And it was kind of nice to get that done and then come here and just kind of pound out motos.
We do the odd technique thing here. And it’s, yeah, like you say, it’s kind of hard. You can critique a couple things, but yeah, it’s kind of just try to latch on to the faster guys.
That’s kind of the only thing you can really get faster with. There’s little things here and there, like trying to stay lighter on the bike, stuff like that. Like there’s, you can always learn, but it’s hard to really drill in drills when there’s so many people here.
It’s hard to kind of fixate on one person. So it’s kind of a group effort when we’re doing drills and stuff here.
Okay. It makes me like, I always use this analogy too. Like I can’t go out and train every day and run as fast as the top 100 meter sprinters”
“It just won’t happen. Do you think it’s not just a matter of putting in the time, is it? Like, do you think you could be as fast as Dylan Wright?
You know what I mean? Like, what’s, what is it? You know what I mean?
Like, what’s the missing increase?
Yeah, I’ve actually talked about that a lot. It’s hard. It’s like, especially, I don’t know if I could ever get Dylan Wright’s speed at this point.
You know what I mean? Like, it’s, I’ve gotten my level and stuff, and I think I can improve, but he’s also going to improve. So I think the way, at this point, the way you got to beat guys like that is kind of consistent consistency, pressuring them, stuff like that.
But I don’t know if I’m going to be able to just gain that much speed on Dylan Wright, you know what I mean? Like, his one lap speed is so dramatically faster than pretty much everyone in Canada right now that it’s hard to bridge that gap at this point in our career.”
“Yeah, it’s funny, isn’t it? I mean, you just, obviously, you’re in the middle of it. It’s tough to look at that and kind of go, I don’t know what I can do.
Yeah, for sure. But yeah, the way I look at it is that’s, it’s fine to me that I mean, I beat him in the championship last year and I was nowhere near as fast as him. So that’s kind of the way you got to look at it.
Well, there was a guy that won the title last year. He didn’t win it overall.
Exactly. Exactly.
Oh, man. Okay. So that’s interesting though.
Now we brought Tanner Ward up, so we might as well talk about this too. I know he just came back from the airport, right?
Yeah. Just took him to the airport.
And all right. So he’s going, did you guys talk about that? Like, do you say, hey, man, can I just, can I come too?
Yeah, I know I said that. I was like, hey, does that team want another 450 guy out there? Try it out.”

“But yeah, no, it’s been good. He, it was kind of nice leading up to this race. He said he’s a lot more prepared and stuff, being like riding with me, riding with the other guys, just getting the intensity up before going to race, where I think before he was riding by himself a lot.
So it’s nice to get the intensity up before going racing this time.
Right. And he’s so hard on himself too, right? You go over there, he almost pulled the whole shot.
Then he, you know, had that thing on the outside, got kind of taken out, blah, blah, blah. And then it’s just hard to have a good time. And he said, just describing that track.
It’s funny to watch, like, obviously, I watched the broadcast, but it didn’t look as tough as he made it sound. But it’s just, he must have described it to you, huh?
Yeah, I think it was, I think it was pretty tough. I think it was kind of, it’s hard to explain. One day we, there’s a turn track in here and they watered it big one night and tilled it deep.”
“And it was like sloppy mud. And he said it was pretty much like that, where you could just never trust your front end, never know what’s going to happen. So I think just so foreign to him.
And for those guys, it’s probably natural where he just like took it, took him a second to figure it out. Right.
All right. He’s also going to race. Sounds like he’s going to race Jeffrey Hurling’s this weekend, too.
That’s pretty wild.
Yeah, he was talking about that. It is pretty cool.
And talk about a legend. Hey, no, you mentioned.
I guess he would have raced imaginations, too.
Yeah. Well, yeah, true. Okay.
So you’re talking about Cole Pranger and Tanner and you. It was Jamie Esadillo. Was she there?
Did you guys get all together and do your testing?”
“No, she hasn’t been here. She’s been pretty busy with the WMX stuff, but I drove her bike down with me to Florida. So she came to Dreamland and got her bike and stuff.
So we talked then. But other than that, she’s just been kind of focusing on her, doing her Australia stuff.
Right, right. Yeah, because I just saw her at Detroit and she was saying that she was going to head up to, you know, with the team to do some testing and stuff like that.
I think she will be coming to Ontario to do some testing once we’re all back home.
OK, cool, cool.
Yeah.
Hey, I just thought of something, too. I know you’re pretty close with this guy. Is there a Larry and Tyser comeback?
It seems that way. I honestly I didn’t know that that video was coming out. I saw it.
Someone showed it to me, actually. And I was like, oh my gosh.”
“I asked him if he got if that was like an old school cross up. He said, no, no, he just got all screwed up off the face of the jump.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, I don’t know. I don’t know if you’ve ever written one of those sleds, but they are horrible.
I read them when they were new, buddy.
Yeah, they’re horrible, horrible things to ride. So I couldn’t imagine taking them off a jump like that.
Geez, no kidding. Hey, FYI, a little tidbit of history for you. My first words when I was a baby, literally, were skidoo.
There you go.
True story.
Yeah, my mom always says my first words were dirt bike noises, but I think most babies sound like that.
Yeah, true, maybe. Hey, what do you got? What do you got for any big changes for this year, like bike-wise, your mechanic?
What are you doing for all that kind of stuff?”
“Well, yeah, just the, like, the GasGas to KTM are pretty similar, but the change to SSS suspension is definitely a big change. It’s been really nice. It’s a lot more lenient to our tracks to what I’ve been on before.
And it’s just like a lot more plusher and stuff. So it’s been nice. It’s been a bit of a learning experience, but I’ve been enjoying it.
And yeah, I got a new mechanic and stuff, so it won’t be Bennett, but I’m excited for that. It’s kind of, it’s always nice having your brother. Like it’s nice to have him at the races with me and stuff.
But there’s definitely times where it’s a job and it’s hard to have your brother there. You know, I don’t want to, I don’t want to ask him to do too much and stuff. But if someone’s there getting paid to be my mechanic, it’s a little bit different.
Okay, now I noticed you didn’t say a name. Were you holding that back for a while?
No, no, Derek. He was Wyatt’s mechanic last year.
Oh, nice. Okay. Yeah.”

“Okay, cool, man. All right, so we talked about, okay, last year, you had a couple of second overalls, right? You did, was it Gopher Dunes and Sandelier?
You didn’t get a second. You got three threes and a three three.
Yeah.
But take us through, like, sum it up. Like, did you feel like, obviously, like I said, it was a bit of a strange year, but a couple of second place overalls is pretty big for you.
Yeah, I was definitely happy with it. But yeah, like you said, it was kind of gifted to me in a couple of ways. But I felt like even when those guys at the top were at the top of their game at the start of the year, I was still fourth place every weekend.
So I feel like I was there, but there was definitely a little bridge to gap. So I needed that favour to get those second places, but I’ll take it and you got to be there to get the races, the finishes. So I was definitely happy with it.”
“It was cool to kind of check those boxes off in my first year on a 450. So happy with that. And yeah, I hopefully get a couple more this year.
Nice. Was it Sandelit that that was, I mean, obviously an interesting podium. Was it Tanner Yu and Preston Massie Angelo?
Was that Sandelit?
Yeah, yeah. And then my bike was blowing up the whole second moto.
Man, what a wild day that was. That was about the wildest day I can remember, I think.
Yeah, that was crazy.
Oh, man. Okay, so yeah, I meant who, well, back to Club MX, where you’re riding there. Who actually, aside from your team guys, who else are you actually, you know, banging bars with and doing motos with?”
“Luke Fousers here. He’s riding really good. I don’t actually know his last name, but there’s Jet here.
He’s a good rider. The Supercross guys, they’re still on Supercross, so we’re not riding with any of like the Cody Shawks or anything, unfortunately. But yeah, it’s basically just me, Tanner Cole, Luke Fousers, and then a couple other guys that are quick for a couple laps.
But yeah, it’s just kind of us pushing each other.
Okay, cool. How’s everybody talking? Devin Simonson, I mean, you’re right there.
What a season he’s having. I don’t know how much you know him or not, but pretty wild to watch his improvement.
Yeah, it is crazy. He’s killing it. But yeah, we talk about it a little bit.
I’ve talked to him a couple of times while I’ve been here. But yeah, he’s just, you know, it’s definitely funny seeing him on TV and everything. And then you hang out with him in person and you don’t really end up talking about Supercross at all.”
“So yeah, he’s a pretty good dude, for sure. I’ve obviously ridden for PRMX guys and everything, too, before. So I got to know him pretty well.
But yeah, good dude. Good to see his success. And actually, Mike Bonacci just sent over a little story, actually.
I’m going to put that up on a little, just a little background on him and how he got to where he is and all that kind of stuff. Kind of interesting. But anyway, sorry to mention that, because I just got that email from them.
But OK, so me and Tanner were talking about it the other day. And when I raised Supercross, I was battling with him to make night shows. And now he’s freaking almost podium and crazy.
Huh? Wow.
Yeah.
So there you go. It could have been you.
Could have been me.”
“All right, so let’s talk about the 2026 season here. Now we got, I mean, obviously, Phil’s not coming back, but now we got Sebastian Racine, we got Ryder McNabb moving up, Harry Kula showing up, then obviously Jess, Tanner, Dylan. What, with all those names, where do you slot yourself in there?
Yeah, I mean, I think my goal is kind of the same as last year coming into it. Just try to be a top five guy every single weekend. And podiums would be awesome, but especially with the field being a bit more stacked this year, you can’t just go in thinking I’m going to podium every single weekend, because then if you don’t, you’re going to be disappointed.
Yeah.
So I think the goal as of right now is to just be a top five guy every single weekend. And I think that’ll put me in a pretty good spot.
Nice. Yeah, top five. I mean, like we just, like I just named off those names.
That’s a pretty top end group for sure, man. That’d be, it’s not going to be easy this year.”
“No, for sure.
I mean, Sebastian’s been down there in Florida and stuff. Did you cross paths when you were down there or not?
No, not at all. No, I think he’s, I don’t know where he is now, but he’s at GPF for a while. But no, I’ve only been at Dreamland in here.

Okay. Okay, and how about any preseason gate drops? I know there’s all kinds of interesting races going on down there.
Pre-Season Race Plans
Anything down there?
No, I haven’t done any racing down here, but I’m going to do all the AMO stuff when I get back at home. So that’ll kind of be the starting of everything. But other than that, just the Thursday gate drops that have happened here.
Oh, I guess it’s probably an insurance thing too, I’m assuming or no?
Yeah, it’s a lot more money to be racing down here. There’s been a couple of opportunities where I’ve thought about it, but I don’t know, just hasn’t been too worth it yet.”
“Okay, so when you mentioned the AMO stuff, when does that start? When will you come home?
I’m actually coming home next weekend. So I only got about another week and a half here. And then I think the first AMO race is April 18th or something like that.
So, yeah.
Okay, yeah, I mean, it’s not very warm today, but the temperature is coming up, but obviously we’re starting to get the spring rain now. So it’s a bit of a drag, but it’s getting better. It’ll be better when you get here.
Yeah, I’m hoping.
Now, what do you do on the Priority team? Obviously, there’s only two rounds out west. Will you just stay out during the week?
And what’s the rest of the summer look like for you? Like, do you go back and forth? You stay on the road?
What do you do?
Yeah, so, out west, I’ll stay out there for a couple of weeks. My plan as of right now is to go in early, hopefully ride Calgary for a day or two before the National. And I always try to do that every year.”
“And then, yeah, stay out there between round one and two, fly home after round two. And then I think I’m going to drive to most of them. I might fly to Moncton just because of how the schedule is now.
I usually drive it, but unfortunately, doesn’t make too much sense to you right now. But other than that, yeah, just driving each round.
Okay. Hey, you mentioned obviously with Colton, SSS suspension, all that kind of stuff. Now that he’s not with GDR and everything, does that mean more time for you?
Like, was Colton down there or were you just kind of talking to him on the phone or what did you do?
Yeah, no, we’re just been talking back and forth. He hasn’t been down here, but I think when we go home, we’re going to have a little bit more one-on-one time. They were planning on coming to club, but I think it’s just busy.”
“And when we’re here, you know, we don’t really have time to test suspension. We’re kind of just doing motos and stuff. So when we get home, I think we’re going to have a couple of days of fully testing with Colton and stuff, which will be really good.
Okay. Hey, what were you, what class were you racing in 2018?
2018? Intermediate.
Okay. Did you go west?
No.
Okay.
2019 was my first full year.
Okay. The reason I ask is that announcement of Popcom closing down.
Yeah, Tanner actually just said that.
Yeah. But do you remember, I don’t remember the coverage when speaking of Colt, just how he just dominated. He went away like a minute, he just won by a mile out there at Popcom.”
“It was just crazy to see. He just turned it on. It was wild.
That is wild. That guy definitely knows how to ride your bike.
Yeah. Hey, now who’s doing your motors and stuff?
D-Spec is doing them. Same guy from last year.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay. Excellent. Okay.
So you’re home. We talked about that. Okay.
Now you’ve won our most improved, you won our most missed miss, Mr. Congeniality. What are you going to shoot for this year?
I don’t know. What else do you got?
I don’t know. You’re going to have to make something up.
I don’t think I’ve won the, what is it? The Person of the Year?
Oh, right. You know what? I didn’t do that person of the year thing.
Oh, come on.”
“I didn’t do that this year. I’m going to have to do that now. You got to get a good day.
Maybe slide me in there.
It’s all about marketing. That’s that. You got to get a team behind you.
Yeah, exactly.
There you go. Okay, so we talked about tanners going over there. We talked about your speed with tanner.
You’re happy with that. That’s good to hear. You’re coming home next week.
What else do we need to talk about? Anything else? What do you want to talk about, Quinn?
I’ve run out of questions, and I’m not typing this, so I don’t care.
Yeah, I don’t know. It’s not much. It’s been good.
Happy with everything. It’s going to be pretty… It’s been pretty fun, the three of us living together, having coal.”
“It’s been… I’ve been like the middle child with the older brother and the youngest brother bickering at each other, and I’ve just been in the middle watching, so it’s been pretty fun. It’s been…
I haven’t been on a team like this, where we’ve been able to like kind of bond together going into the season, so I’m excited for that. It’s been really fun.
Hey, I got a question for you. What about the boo hag?
The boo hag? What is that?
Oh, you better get on your computer when we hang up and look up the boo hag. You’re gonna have to go get yourself a straw broom. Go ask Tyler Gibbs about it.
Oh, no. All right.
Go ask somebody about the boo hag there.
I might have to.
You’re gonna have nightmares. You won’t be sleeping.
About Club?
Oh, yeah. Down in that area.”

“together going into the season, so I’m excited for that.
About Club?
Oh, yeah. Down in that area.
Oh, I think I might know what you’re talking about then.
Oh, yeah. The legend of the boo hag. That’s funny.
OK. How old are you now, by the way? You mentioned 25.
Do you feel old?
You know what? Not really.
OK, good, good.
Sometimes, sometimes my knees hurt.
I always tell people I felt the oldest in my whole life when I was 26. For some reason, school is done. You got to get real.
Yeah.
You say, what am I doing?
This stuff’s getting real. And you’re like, damn.
All right. What are you driving?
Driving the van.
OK, OK”
“Yeah. Still living in the van. But me, Tanner and Cole are in quite the tight little camper down here.
So we’re kind of pitting out of the van still and stuff. But it’s been in some close quarters. So it’s pretty it’s been funny.
Nice. All right. What about at Dreamland?
Was it ping pong? What was your game?
You know what? Would they play ping pong? But I never got into the ping pong too, too much.
I would just watch. But they got into ping pong quite a bit. We haven’t been playing too much games down here.
It’s been pretty busy, but I’m sure we’ll be getting into something when we get home.
All right. Hey, what about your pit bike nationals? What do you call your race?
Pit bike nationals. Yeah, I don’t know. It’ll be we’re not too sure what’s going to go on with that this year, with the garage and everything that happened last year.
So we’ll have to see. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with that one.”
“What? A garage took up some land?
No, our garage. We lost our garage last the last fall. Oh, yeah.
Okay. You’re sure you didn’t just leave it somewhere?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, we’re still looking for it. But so that might change some things for the pit bike race. But as of right now, we’re not too sure.
But it’s been good. It’s been it’s been crazy over the last couple years. We we try to keep it on the down low, so not too too many people show up because we really don’t have that much room.
But somehow people find out and a lot of people show up.
Nice. I think the videos probably don’t don’t hurt either or help.
No, no. But I mean, the video comes out after the race.
I know. But you make it look like such a good time. People are waiting at your gate.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.”
“People usually ask me about it. And I’m like, I don’t know. And the thing is, is we really don’t know the date of it until like a week before.
OK, because we kind of got to do it with the weather and everything. If it doesn’t rain, it’s really bad. OK, so if we got some rain and stuff and it’s usually pretty late in the year, then we’re just like, all right, it’s next weekend.
We just kind of do it.
OK. All right, Quinn, well, I think we covered pretty much everything we need to cover for sure for this time of year and everything. We all caught up on what you’re doing, what’s coming up and stuff.
So thanks for chatting with us as always. Week number 14. Hey, are you a fan of career numbers or would you rather be number four?
Career Number Gratitude
I don’t know. I think they’re cool. I think the number four thing would have been cool as well.”

“But I like, I mean, 14 is my number. I’ve always wanted to be my number. And when I got 14 given to me, and then that year I was like, okay, my goal this year is to get a career number and keep 14.
So I think that’s kind of a cool thing where you can kind of strive to get a number that you want. But yeah, I don’t know. I think it’s cool.
But I think the other way is also pretty cool.
Hey, how’s you going?
Yeah, it doesn’t matter, but I definitely don’t think I want to lose 14. So maybe we’ll keep it like that.
All right, buddy. Well, good talking with you as always. And good luck with the rest of your training and everything.
And the gate drops. And I guess you’ll be watching the broadcast for Tanner over there this weekend, too.
Yeah, exactly. See how I stack up in Great Britain.
Ah, there you go. That’s right. All right, man, do you want to thank some people?
Then we’ll let you get on your way.”
“Yeah, the whole Priority MX team. They’ve done a lot for us, so it’s pretty cool. It’s cool to have this opportunity, and especially last year, kind of doing it on my own with the whole winter and stuff.
So it’s cool to have a different mindset coming into this year and having all these opportunities and just kind of everything at my fingertips is really cool. So yeah, Justin, Peter, everyone helping us out. I’m really excited for this year.
So thanks to all of them, and hopefully we can put in some good results for them.
Nice. Hey, you guys still cleaning your stuff with dirt care?
Yes, sir. You know what, I’ve said it a couple of times. I don’t think I’ve actually used it before, but it is awesome.
It works so good. I’ve been surprised every time I’ve washed my bike. I’m like, gosh damn, this stuff works good.
Yeah, yeah, it’s amazing. There’s a nice shameless plug. I’m involved with those guys.
So it’s great to hear that. That’s awesome. Keep it up”
“There you go. Yeah, no, I genuinely am very impressed. It’s good stuff.
Excellent. All right. We’ll leave it on that high note.
Cool. All right, Quinn, thanks a lot. And we’ll see you back here at AMO Round 1.
Sounds good. Thanks, Billy.
See you, man. Bye-bye.”
That was probably pretty entertaining and painful to try and go through, so I apologize for that.
Thanks for chatting with me on Thursday, Tanner.
Tanner Ward Racing MXGB Round 2 this Weekend

If you listened to the interview with Quinn, you would have heard us talking about his Priority MX GasGas teammate Tanner Ward heading back to Great Britain to race round 2 of their MXGB series this weekend. In fact, Quinn was just back to Club MX after taking Tanner to the airport for his flight out of Charlotte, NC, I assume.
He had a bit of a rough welcome to their series a couple weeks ago at Hawkstone Park. This week, he’ll go up against the regular riders plus the addition of none other than Jeffrey Herlings.
You can watch all the action on their free service over at MXGBTV on their Youtube channel, starting at 6:45am Eastern, I think. (Double check the start time in your area.)
Popkum Motor Park to Cease Activities at the End of the 2026 Season

Popkum Motor Park has announced on their Instagram page that they will be closing at the end of the 2026 season. The track that sits right on the edge of the #1 Highway, 120kms east of downtown Vancouver hosted a Canadian Motocross National in 2018 and is often the only official track open in the country through the winter months.
Here’s what they said on IG:
Well folks, it’s with very heavy hearts that we share this news.
After 17 unforgettable years, Popkum Motor Park, will be closing its gates following the 2026 season.
Due to recent changes in zoning, continuing beyond 2026 is no longer logistically viable. As a result, we have had to make the difficult decision to close the park. Our last day of operations will be Monday, November 30, 2026.
We would like to start by acknowledging the Popkum First Nations, and Chief James Murphy, for your years of support, friendship, and trust all these years. We could never thank you enough for sharing your land with us, and our riding community. Popkum will forever hold a special place in many people’s hearts.
To everyone who has ridden here, camped here, laughed here, learned here, and made memories here, we want to thank you. You are and have been the heartbeat of Popkum Motor Park. The friendships made, the passions shared, the weekends spent with family and fellow riders shredding dirt is what made Popkum more than just a “track”. You are all our family, and this park existed because of your support!
While this chapter is coming to a close, the sport we all love will continue. Popkum Motor Park lived far longer than anyone could have imagined because of the incredible support from this community. Though it’s painful to say goodbye, we are forever grateful for the journey we shared together.
To our valued supporters and sponsors, past and present, you are the best. None of what we accomplished over the past 17 years would have been possible without you. Together, we helped create an experience and facility unlike any other in North America, and opened the door for countless riders to discover and grow within the sport. We extend our heartfelt thanks to every organization and individual, past and present, who supported us along the way.
To Chris, JC, and the entire Fox Head Canada family in Calgary, and California. Thank you for keeping our staff looking pro, thank you for keeping those newbies who wanted to try a dirt bike safe, and looking fine. We can say that Fox doesn’t compromise safety or looks, and it performs when you need it most. If you need gear, visit Fox at your local dealership!!
To Gord, Brendan, Krista, Mac, at GA Checkpoint & Jeff and, Randy at Yamaha Canada. Thank you for helping us to do something never before done. Bringing Yamaha to Popkum Motor Park and becoming part of the bLU cRU family 7 years ago has been special. The Yamaha Canada brand helped elevate what we already offered and it was a great addition to the park. We cannot thank all of you enough.
Popkum Motor Park was a dream built by many hands and many hearts. Thank you for being part of it. We are proud of what was built, the community it served, and the memories created over the years.
As the season will come to a close, make sure to grab the last of the Popkum merch before it’s gone. Keep the memory alive, keep riding and keep living life wide open 5th gear on two wheels!
Make sure you come play as much as possible before it all ends on November 30, 2026!
We cannot thank Honda Canada enough for their support. We have been representatives of “Big Red” for 13 years. Without Honda Canada stepping up to support Popkum, we would not have been able to provide rentals, lessons or experiences to tens of thousands. They have been a valued partner and supporter of Popkum! BIG thank you to Mathieu, Veer, Andrew, and the entire family at Honda Canada.
As we move into this next chapter, we encourage the community to continue supporting the companies that stood behind Popkum Motor Park and the sport throughout the Lower Mainland, and BC.
Finally, to our staff—both past and present—thank you for the dedication, hard work, and passion that kept Popkum Motor Park operating for the last 17 years. Your contributions made it possible for the public to ride five days a week and for thousands of riders to learn how to ride and develop a lifelong love for the sport. Without you, Popkum Motor Park would never have become what it was originally dreamed to be, nor what it ultimately became.
So, all are aware, Honda Canada and Yamaha Canada, working side by side is something that was never done before, anywhere! Having the two largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world, in one location, had never been done and that is something truly special. Together we broke the old mold, proved both could work in the same venue and we created a model that showcased the best of both brands! If you are in the market for a new ride, PLEASE check out your local Honda and Yamaha dealers.
To Ryan at PTI Graffix, thank you for keeping us stocked with Popkum stickers, and our fleet of rides looking exceptional with your creative fresh designs. If you need new motorcycle graphics for your ride, signage, stickers, t-shirts and more, visit PTI Graffix!
Get out and ride this season while you still can!
