$2 Tuesday: Heather Bennett Grabs 3rd at Gopher Dunes in 2013

I went looking for a photo the other day and stumbled onto this one of #31 Heather Bennett (then Bowman) on the podium at Gopher Dunes in 2013.
This shot shows pure joy as she finished 3rd overall with 6-3 motos. Up front was #254 Jacqueline Strong who was untouchable followed by #2E Renée Riendeau whose consistent 4-4 motos put her up in 2nd.
#5 that summer was young Eve Brodeur who had a rough first moto, taking 27th. She came back for 2nd in the final moto but 27-2 only put her 10th overall.
It was Heather’s only trip to the podium that summer (3-15-4) and she would finish 5th overall in the series.
