Off the Cuff with Jacqueline Ross | July 2025

Greetings, Humans,

According to Dr. Edward Teller, one of the nation’s leading physicists, “A child does not need a lightning-fast mind to be a scientist, nor does he need a miraculous memory, nor is it necessary that he get very high grades in school. The only point that counts is that the child have a high degree of interest in science.” You may be thinking, “That’s great, but what does this have to do with the motorsports realm?” Absolutely nothing—on the surface level.Thankfully, I’ve never been one to skate on the surface.  Let’s take a dive, shall we?

There are five words in that quote that struck a chord within my spirit and provided me with confirmation: “A high degree of interest.

In order to succeed at anything in life, a high degree of interest must be present. Think about it. When was the last time you were merely interested in something, yet still committed so fully that you willingly endured the sacrifices that came with the pursuit of excellence?

Questions that make one go… hmmm.

Passion can be both a fire and a furnace. Each requires constant preservation. The work is often unnoticed. The grind is unglamorous. The results are frequently delayed. But over time, consistency compounds—brick by brick. If one is willing to endure and maintain that high degree of interest, anything is possible.

See you at the top,
Jacqueline
