Welcome to Week #6 of the DMX Frid’Eh Update #6 brought to you by Dirt Care Cleaners and Lubricants. Ask your local dealer for this Canadian company’s products by name for all your motorcycle and bicycle care needs.

We’re currently getting more snow here in my area. This winter has been one for the record books! Fortunately, it’s been so cold that when I finally headed out on my MTB the bike paths that run through all of London were hard-packed and easy to ride. Looks like I’ll be getting back on the bike more often after taking a couple months off. I tell ya, it’s hard to stay fit here in this climate!

I’ve been looking forward to this week for a little while now because we haven’t heard anything from the #6 honouree in quite some time. He’s gone through some tricky health issues but it sounds like he’s finally back on track and looking forward to getting back in the action when the season starts out west at Wild Rose MX in Calgary, Alberta, on June 7th.

Ryder McNabb is the 2-time Canadian Triple Crown Series 250 Motocross Nationals champion. He’s been on everyone’s radar since he was on the little bikes and even made a name for himself against the top riders in the world south of the border when he was an amateur.

I love the part of our interview when he says he got a “real” job this past year and it really helped him realize how much he misses racing. It’s a story we hear quite often, actually.

He won the series in 2022 and 2023. He got a ride in the AMA for the 2024 season and that’s when he started having the health issues. Last summer, he was in the mix again but ended up getting hurt and didn’t have the results he’s used to up here in Canada. Here’s a look at his 2025 summer:

He also has a pretty crazy story about how he made it from Manitoba to his new team’s HQ in Ontario to get ready to head south to Masterpool’s place in Texas. It’s worth the listen.

I knew we were going to be talking for a while and there were a lot of questions I wanted to ask him, so we did this one as a podcast interview. Yes, there are programs that will transcribe them for you, but they are not perfect and are very time-consuming to pore over and edit. Apple Podcasts and Spotify actually provides the transcript of the podcasts, so you can read it there if that’s your preference.

Here’s what Ryder had to say this week when we called him up:

Tanner Ward Wins the Florida Winter Ams

#84 Tanner Ward cleans up at the 2026 Florida Winter Ams and takes home both 250 A/Pro and 450 A/Pro titles (and the +25).

The Pro number were down this season, as you can see by the score sheets, but getting gate drops through the off season is a great way to stay sharp and race some riders who challenge you to keep improving.

Tanner went up against Charlie Heyman from England and Evgeny Bobryshev at a couple rounds.

We grabbed him for a podcast interview to talk about his winter and the upcoming 450 series:

Jordan Jarvis Coming to Canada Full-Time in 2026

Another big story we saw this week was the signing of WMX standout Jordan Jarvis committing to the Canadian WMX series full-time on the Dusty Rocks MX Yamaha team. We got in touch with her to talk about it, briefly.

Jordan Jarvis signs to race WMX in Canada for 2026
5 Minutes with Jordan Jarvis. | Bigwave photo

Direct Motocross: Hello, Jordan. Let’s start with a bit of personal information. Where are you from and how did you get started racing Motocross? Was Moto always where you were heading?

Jordan Jarvis: I am from Leesburg, Florida, (west of Orlando) and I got started racing Motocross because my dad did it when he was younger and he put me on a bike very young and I fell in love with it. Motocross was always what I wanted to do and I’m very lucky I’ve been able to make it happen and make it my career.

We’ve followed your career since you were on little bikes. You’re a 9-time AMA Champion but how many times have you raced in Canada and how has it gone?

I’ve only raced in Canada twice. I did the Walton race in ’22 and ’23 (’23 and ’24) I believe. It went well. I’m pretty sure I ended up with 1-1 scores for the overall win both times.

Jordan after winning at Walton Raceway in 2024. | Bigwave photo

You raced the American WMX series in 2025 and finished 4th. With the way both series are arranged, you won’t really be able to do any of the early US rounds, will you? Can you take us through how this whole deal to come to Canada for the Dusty Rocks MX team came about and why it makes sense for you now?

I’m actually going to be doing both. The WMX in the States actually runs on Friday and Saturday, so I will fly out Saturday after I race to head to Canada. I’ve always wanted to race in other countries and I’ve wanted to do a least one full season in Canada, since that first time I raced Walton. So when someone had asked if it was okay to give my contact info to a team I was all for it.

You obviously know Jamie Astudillo and Eve Brodeur from your years of competing with them. We’ve got some pretty fast WMX riders climbing the ranks. I’m pretty sure you’ll run the table, but how do you see your Canadian summer adventure going and what are you looking forward to?

I see my summer going really well. Travis (Deglow) at Dusty Rocks is amazing and is making sure I’m well taken care of. I’m super excited for everything to start, but in the meantime I’m going to get some time to ride and train with the other guys on the team and get to do some really cool things. I think I’m going to be very prepared going into the summer months and, most importantly, I know I’m going to have a lot of fun and I get to ride with some new people and a new team and I’m so excited!

Jordan will race the Oceanic Cup in Australia for Team USA before resuming her preparations for Canada. | Bigwave photo

Our series doesn’t start until June, so what will you be doing between now and then? Where will you be training and what pre-season races will you do?

I was actually picked to go back to Australia with Team USA to compete again in the women’s Oceanic Cup, so I’m getting ready for that. But after that I will be trying to ride as much as I can and join the rest of the guys and train with them.

Well, this is pretty big news for our WMX series. Good luck with all your preparation. See you soon, and who would you like to thank?

I have to thank Travis and the whole Dusty Rocks MX crew for giving me this chance. Also, Yamaha of Canada for helping the team out as well. I also need to thank FXR, 6D, CTI, Atlas, and everyone else from the States who still continues to support me and all my crazy adventures.

Waiting for the Official Release of Riders from KTM Canada

We’re still waiting for the official press release from KTM Canada about their race roster for this coming season. They’ve announced they’ve signed young Hayden Dupuis to an amateur contract to race a 125, but we’re still waiting for the release that will announce Crayden Dillon on a 250 and Harri Kullas on the 450. At this point, I guess it’s still in the “Rumour Mill” category.

Speaking of Crayden Dillon, he’s moved up to the top class in Amsoil Snocross. Here’s how he’s doing in the point standings. Canada is showing very well! That’s another Canadian motocrosser/snowmobiler leading the way, Jordan Lebel.

FIM North American Arenacross Championship Heads to Arizona

I remember going to this round of Arenacross a couple years ago when it coincided with Monster Energy AMA Supercross. I also remember pulling over in the van to sleep before continuing up the hill that was showing the temperature falling through the floor! Glamorous, I tell you!

You can watch all the action live on the RYDETV app.
The broadcast starts at 7:30pm local time/Mountain Time.

Monster Energy AMA Supercross Heads to Glendale, Arizona

After that exciting battle in the 450 class last week in Houston, let’s see if things level out this week at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, this week. I always enjoy this round whenever I’ve been there. Everything is so neat and tidy, it seems. You even park on either really short grass or fake grass. Either way, it feels great.

Here’s a look at the points as we head into Round 5:

Cole Thompson will run double duty this weekend. He won’t be on the line in the 450 class for Supercross, however, he’ll drop down and race the 250 West round for the team. Here’s Cole’s latest Instagram post:

#214 Tyler Gibbs from Abbotsford, BC is back in action after suffering that elbow injury. #585 Blake Davies from Mission, BC and #800 Preston Masciangelo from Brantford, ON will join him in trying to make it to the Main.

Here’s a look at each of their most recent Instagram posts:

How to watch:

I’ve got the Olympics opening ceremonies on in the background here and the Canadians were just introduced. We have 206 athletes just like we did when we set a medal record in Vancouver. This games will be the return of NHL hockey players, so when we get to watch Canada vs. USA, I think you should probably check it out. Sparks are gonna fly!

Have a great weekend.
