Yamaha Launches NEW 2027 WR450F
CONTROLLED CONFIDENCE
Toronto, ON. – September 10, 2026 – Yamaha Motor Canada is announcing the new 2027 WR450F, featuring major updates to its engine, frame, suspension, clutch, braking system, bodywork and more. The 2027 WR250F also returns with updated competition-inspired graphics and cosmetic refinements.
New 2027 WR450F
Developed to provide greater precision, control and rider confidence, the new 2027 WR450F raises the standard for Yamaha’s flagship enduro motorcycle. Its refined power delivery and updated handling characteristics make it easier to ride across everything from fast, flowing trails to tight, technical singletrack. Because a motorcycle that is easier to ride is also easier to ride fast.
The 2027 WR450F harnesses the performance of Yamaha’s flagship YZ450F motocross racer in a light, compact and highly capable off-road package. Linear, controllable power delivery, a flex-tuned chassis and enduro-specific suspension settings provide the confidence needed to tackle demanding off-road conditions.
NEW HYDRAULIC CLUTCH
A new compact and lightweight hydraulic clutch provides a lighter lever feel, smooth and consistent engagement, and improved control when feathering the clutch at low speeds. The hydraulic system also maintains a consistent engagement point and eliminates the need for adjustments while riding.
A revised clutch inner hub distributes lubrication across a larger area, helping provide stable performance and increased durability during demanding off-road use.
REFINED, CONTROLLABLE POWER
The WR450F’s compact, liquid-cooled, 450 cc four-stroke engine has been revised with a focus on controllable low- to mid-range power. A redesigned intake port produces more efficient combustion and a smoother, more linear delivery, improving traction and machine control in technical terrain.
Revised cam timing promotes more stable combustion, while increased AC magneto inertia creates a more confidence-inspiring feel at low speeds. Together, these changes also improve resistance to stalling when navigating tight and technical sections.
UPDATED CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION
A new aluminum bilateral beam frame balances rigidity and flex to improve stability, front-end feel and cornering performance. Revised KYB® fork settings and a new KYB® rear shock enhance comfort and control across technical terrain, while a hand-operated low-speed compression adjuster allows quick, tool-free suspension changes.
A new 51-tooth rear sprocket, increased from 50 teeth on the previous model, further refines power delivery and responsiveness, particularly when riding fast, flowing trails.
Returning Features:
Returning for 2027 is Yamaha’s industry-leading Power Tuner App, featuring traction control, tuning guides and an ECU lock function. Racing customers can unlock engine tuning and launch control with an available Competition Kit.

RETURNING 2027 WR250F
The popular WR250F returns for 2027 with sharp, competition-inspired graphics and cosmetic refinements.
Based on the race-winning YZ250F, the WR250F combines confidence-inspiring handling with smooth, motocross-bred power delivery. Its compact, liquid-cooled, 250 cc four-stroke engine is paired with a wide-ratio six-speed transmission and a range of enduro-specific features, creating a light and capable motorcycle that allows riders to play fast across a wide variety of terrain.
