I’ve fallen a little behind on my ‘Faces at the Races‘ columns! Here’s a look at some people who were at River Glade in Moncton, NB for Round 6 of the 2025 Canadian Triple Crown Series MX Nationals.
There’s a flaw with my newer Canon camera and that is that somehow a button gets pushed against my leg and it sets the ISO compensation up and up until I notice it, which is usually too late. Oh well, I liked this shot of Jeff Ryan (or is it Ryan Jeff?) and his wife, so I made it black and white and, well, here it is.This little guy #618 Peter Somers rips and this is what it’s all about. I watched another little rider come off the track and get lectured for about 3 minutes right here. It was awkward. The question was: Whose side were the graphics done better on? If you don’t say I can win a mud race, I’m going home!” I used to play Hide and Seek like this when I was a little kid. Danika White and Charlie Johnson. Good peeps, right there. I thought seeing KT and Dylan wright walking together was a good sign at mending fences. It turns out the gate is still broken and the wind blew most of it down…The list of people I DON’T have a photo of with Kourtney Lloyd is getting very small. And Brayden, is there a more important camera over there???We don’t really know who the Premix class is aimed at, but it was cool to see young Hayden Dupuis hold off a couple “big kids” on his Supermini in moto 1.Kourtney doing a brisk business at the Team Canada MXON table.It was so nice and dry in the morning!WMX got their motos in before the rain.If you look up Cheshire Cat Smile, you’ll see this.Thompson Pond still there? ✅TJ Martin raffled away not 1 but 2 Hondas!She went on a little walkabout but #14 Thaly Girard went back and got in the race again.Best podium speeches in the game right here.Not making it very easy on the announcer…Jonathan Bergeron grabbed the Premix overall.Chris “Joe DRT” DaSilva. Sorry, I think it’s pronounced Deertay…Ayrton “Call Me A-Tron” Pomeroy picked a tough day to dive into his first Pro Am race.This was hard to watch as Alek Guadagno struggled to get his bike going agin. Is Brennan Schofield racing anymore? Nope. He sold the bikes and bought himself some watercraft. That’s him on the left with TJ Martin.CONFIRMED: #9 @dylan.wright9 will sit out @mxdeschambault to rest all of his bumps and bruises. In his place, #27@tjscott_46 will ride the @hondamotoca@gdrhonda 450. We’re told both Dylan and @rydermcnabb164 will return for @waltonraceway Enjoy the red carpet treatment, Tanner!I know it isn’t over till it’s over, but I can hear the portly lady warming up behind the stage…Tanner Ward is leading the 450 points by 1 over Phil Nicoletti. It’s so crazy to think Dylan isn’t in this conversation again this season.Just thinking about what he could have done differently in the Shotgun Challenge the night before.That’s #314 Tyler Stepek from Maryland. Or I guess it could be Joe Tait? No one knows for sure!We’ve had a really nice influx of American riders in the east this summer.Hayden helping out his new best bud, #315 Cody Groves. That guys is a total character!That’s Nick Evennou talking to Jess pettis and looking like he could win a mountain stage at the Tour de France.Tanner trying to contact the aliens in a remake of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Still a reference, people!I see you over there, Josh Boaz (pronounced “Boze,” I’m told).I din’t have Phil as my pick for 450 champion this summer but it’s going to come down to a battle between him and Tanner, it looks like. Lars Van Berkel and Dario Zecca.This was my first look at Brett Young on his Triumph. Tommy Dallaire and his dad on the line. The rain started for 250 moto 2 and did not stop.First overall podium (3rd) for 17-year-old #34 Blake Davies. #BCproudIt was brutal but rideable. Goggles were the biggest issue.Just do it.Sebastien Racine with his best James Dean impression. Google it, Seb!Proud Dupuis papa. He told me Hayden has decided to leave GNCC behind and concentrate on moto. Sorry, competition. Ugh.Mitch Cooke had a couple riders up from the States representing Callus – Stepek and #345 Isaak Henderson.Mechanics huddled under the EZ Up trying to keep pit boards and goggles dry.Brad “Go Ahead And Call Me Stephen” Nemeth loving not being an artistic videographer anymore…Stepek OUT in moto 2.Brayden enjoying the first Pro National mudder EVER in New Brunswick. 1-2 gave Jess the overall and left Cale Foster with a bit of work to do.Brian House Award to Hannah Cole.For a $100 ticket, John Fraser left River Glade with 2 Hondas!
