Johnny Moore Collects His First Clash for Cash Win of the 2015 Season

Heath Harrison and Johnny Moore are Main Event Winners in Starkville, MS

 

Fountain, FL, (Monday, January 26, 2015) – Johnny Moore notched his first Clash for Cash win of the 2015 Motosport.com Arenacross Series in Starkville, MS, ending Heath Harrison’s perfect season with seven consecutive wins prior to round eight in Starkville, MS at the Mississippi Horse Park. Moore also took the main event race win in the AX Lites Pro class. Harrison secured the points lead in both the Clash for Cash race and the AX Pro class. Zachary Bishop-Burnett finished second in the AX Pro main event and second in the Clash for Cash behind Moore.

 

Heath Harrison set the fastest overall lap of the day in timed qualifying for the AX Pro class with a 22.78 second lap time. Johnny Moore was less than half a second off Harrison’s time with a 23.14 time.

 

 

In the AX Pro Lites class, Zachary Bishop-Burnett lead the first portion of the race but was passed by Johnny Moore who took the win. Cody Williams worked his way into the top three and passed Bishop-Burnett to finish second.

 

The AX Pro Lites main event hole shot went to Johnny Moore who looked to gather another main event win for the season. Cody Williams improved to finish second in the class. Marcus Nilsen also scored his first Arenacross Tour podium finishing third. Martin Castelo and Bishop-Burnett finished within the top five.

 

In the AX Pro heat race, Cody Williams was able to grab the hole shot with Johnny Moore and Heath Harrison charging for the lead. Harrison made the pass on Williams to take the heat race win. Johnny Moore followed Harrison to finish second and Williams maintained a podium position heading into the main event.

 

 

Heath Harrison was able to get an early lead in the AX Pro main event and take the overall class win. Zachary Bishop-Burnett accompanied Harrison on the podium finishing second. Newcomer to the series, Martin Castelo finished third with Medaglia and Williams rounding out the top five.

 

 

The Clash for Cash race in Starkville proved to be a test of talent for Harrison who had a seven round consecutive winning season. Harrison looked to make it eight in a row, but a wreck on the start caused him to work his way up from dead last to the within the top five. Tyler Medaglia sat in second in the 20 lap sprint, with Johnny Moore looking to make moves to the front. Moore passed Medaglia for the lead and a battle for third broke out between Bishop-Burnett and Cody Williams. Harrison charged all the way up to fourth and battled with Medaglia for a podium position. With one lap left in racing, Harrison went to pass Medaglia for third, and both riders made contact. Medaglia went down after Harrison’s pass but managed to get going again without loosing positions. Top three finishers in the premier pro class consist of Johnny Moore, Zachary Bishop-Burnett and Tyler Medaglia. This marks the previous Clash for Cash champion’s, Johnny Moore’s, first Clash for Cash win of the season and the end of Harrisons perfect season. Harrison has secured the overall championship title in the class with one round of racing in the season.
