Who/what inspired you to get onto a dirt bike and how long have you been racing/riding?

I have been riding dirt bikes since I was 2 years old! I started racing at 4. My dad was who inspired me, he has been riding since he was 2 as well, so I was practically born into it!

When not on a dirt bike how do you keep yourself busy? Are you involved in any other sports or extracurricular activities?

When I am not on my dirt bike, I am either at work or in the gym. I am also part of some amazing school clubs like the Rotary Interact Club, so I also spend some time helping people in need!

As a racer, are there any obstacles you feel a female racer has to deal with that maybe a male racer does not?

As a girl in motocross, I think one of the biggest obstacles we face is the mental block compared to men. A lot of the time we doubt ourselves more or feel extra pressure to prove we belong, which can affect how we ride. Another big issue is the lack of publicity for women in motocross. There aren’t as many female riders shown or talked about, which makes it harder to feel motivated and supported. If women in the sport had more visibility, it would help build confidence and inspire more girls to get into motocross.

Teegan got on her first dirt bike when she was just 2 years old, just like her dad did.

From your first ride to where you are now, what is something you never thought you would be able to accomplish?

Some things I never thought I’d be able to do would be getting on the Ladies championship podium 2 years in a row in the PMA. I have always looked up to the people in the Ladies class, and from being close to dead last when I first moved up to winning some races now is like a dream come true!

Who is your all-time favourite rider and why?

If you know me you would know how much I love Jason Anderson! Even though he isn’t the fastest, he always shows up and puts his best effort. Jason Anderson is easy to like for more than just his podiums. He stays calm when races get crazy and always finds smart lines that other riders miss. He doesn’t try to be flashy and just rides smooth and confident. His chill personality and mental toughness make him someone a lot of motocross fans respect. Another one would be Billy Laninovich. He might not always qualify for the night show, and with being one of the oldest in SMX, his ambitious personality is truly inspiring!

What event do you look forward to most every year? What’s one event you don’t ever want to miss?

One race I look forward to would most definitely be the Fort Nelson PMA race, and the Aggasiz BCVETMX race!

Do you have any pre-race rituals?

I usually give myself a hyped-up pep talk, telling myself that I am capable of anything as long as I put my mind to it! I always let myself know to breathe, and to not close my eyes over the jumps. As well as giving fist bumps to everyone and saying a little prayer!

Teegan’s 2 favourite riders are Jason Anderson and Billy Laninovich.

What are your plans for this upcoming season? Any specific events you’re looking forward to?

This upcoming season is going to be a busy one, we have a lot of things planned. All of the PMA, and as well as trying for 2026 Loretta Lynn’s. Hopefully some Triple Crown and WMX nationals!

What are your biggest accomplishments to date?

2 of my favourite accomplishments would be winning two of the ladies PMA races this past race season!

What is the biggest lesson that racing has taught you so far?

To get back up. You’re going to get knocked down sometimes, but the thing that matters most is getting back up and trying again.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In the next 5 years, I hope to be top 3 in WMX in Canada, and hopefully at Loretta’s!

What kind of track/dirt/terrain do you feel you excel at most and why?

I don’t think there’s a certain dirt that I excel in, but I definitely excel at tracks with a lot of big jumps and wider corners. I am not the best at short and tight tracks.

If you ever have children will you give them the option to race as well?

2000%! Motocross has shaped me to be who I am today, and with family-like support in the moto community, I believe it would be the best thing I could ever do for my kids. I also think that with all the lessons that come with the sport, like discipline, confidence, resilience, and learning how to handle failure, it could make my kids strong, hardworking, and mentally tough individuals both on and off the track.

If you could give 1 piece of advice to a female of any age who wants to start riding, what would it be?

You can do anything as long as you have the right mindset! Be positive along your riding journey, as it doesn’t happen overnight!

What was your first race number and how did you choose it?

304 has always been my race number. I was given three options at the dealer when I was probably 5, and I chose the first one I heard.

Do you see yourself ever competing in the Canadian WMX Triple Crown series? Or have you competed in the WMX Triple Crown Series? What are your thoughts on the series?

I am hoping to do it this coming year! I’ve never done it before, but I think it’s a great series.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I would love to be a women’s pro motocross racer, but something within the sport or possible the medical field would work too!

Who would you like to thank?

I would like to thank my amazing parents for always supporting me, as well as Red-Line Powercraft, Hoods Crane Rental, Matrix Concepts Canada, and everyone who has got me to where I am today!
