Every year it seems the bikes get faster and faster, and the average rider just goes about their business like always. Quite a few years back, motocross legend, David Bailey, set the MX world on fire when he gave a speech from his bed about safety and neck braces. It sparked a huge debate between wearing and not wearing neck braces. That was it, almost everyone jumped in with both feet and started wearing one, from the top Pro’s right down to the youngest beginners. The problem was, 90% of the time, the braces weren’t sized properly, and that’s not a good thing. In 2009, in stepped the people at Atlas Brace.

The Atlas Brace gives you the protection you need without any of the bulky, trapped feelings previously accompanied with neck brace design.

I, myself, was a bandwagon jumper back in the day and wore one of the other braces on the market. I never really enjoyed the feel of it, but I didn’t know any better. Fast forward a few years, and I was able to make my own decisions and went out and purchased an Atlas Brace. I instantly enjoyed the comfort and rested easy knowing I was as protected as I could be wearing the best brace on the market.

Here we are, present day, and the great people at Atlas, Ryan Lockhart and Brad McLean sent me the new Atlas Air neck brace and the Defender chest protector to test out. I instantly fell in love with the weight and fit. This is a product where you can tell instantly that someone with vast knowledge of motocross designed it. It’s the best protection out there, but it also allows you  unrestricted movement. This is the only brace that moves and flows with your body instead of restricting your natural movements. The fit and finish are second to none.

Lets face it, racers are very particular and fussy when it comes to gear, and  I am one of them, but I had zero issues with the brace and chest protector working together. I don’t want to be cheesy, but it’s just like peanut butter and jam – they were designed to achieved the best results together. In my opinion, if you aren’t wearing an Atlas Brace, you should give one a try and feel the difference.
