TLD Thursday Wallpapers – 2012 Kamloops National at Whispering Pines

As I said last week, I really need to get to a race to get some new shot! With that in mind, we’re going to kill two birds with one stone and combine TLD Wallpapers with a little Throwback Thursday #tbt. This week we’re going back to 2012 and the Kamloops National at Whispering Pines. Colton Facciotti was running the #1 plate and his teammate, Dusty Klatt, was #2 making the Royal Distributing Fox KTM Canada team as competitive as you could imagine.

2012 was also the year Matt Goerke came to Canada on the Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki team and won the MX1 championships after putting on a riding clinic at the Gopher Dunes national that really had to be seen to be believed. One quote I remember that summed his ride up perfectly came from none other than John Nelson. He said, “Someone should black flag Goerke. I think his throttle is stuck wide open!” It was like he was riding a smooth track while everyone else was on the Gopher track we all know. You won’t want to miss it when he returns this summer!

Anyway, here are a few shots from Kamloops that you can decorate your ‘retro’ desktop with:

Matt Goerke stayed smooth and consistent and would emerge as the MX1 champion in 2012. Watch for his return in 2015.
